I have been testing out some of the budget or drugstore BB creams products, that are available in SA that are good value for money as well as being good products. There are 3 that I am really loving at the moment and leave the skin look beautiful. There are BB creams accessible to you that are best worn under a foundation because they really don’t have enough coverage but these BB creams give quite good coverage and can be worn on their own. Remember if you have bad skin you will still need to conceal those areas.
If you are unsure what a BB cream its a beauty blemish balm that is more than the tinted moisturisers that you know. It has a few functions such as it helps moisturise skin, even out skin tone, acts like a primer and protects agains the sun.
Here are some BB creams i have come across:
Garnier BB Cream for Combination Skin R74.95 : Love this new version of the Garnier BB Cream as it helps with combination and oily skin. Sadly it doesn’t come in my shade so I tested it I tested on a paler skin model to see how it came out and how it looked in front of a camera. It has a beautiful finish and leaves skin looking even and glowing without the shine that some products may leave. I also love the origional one that is great for hydration and that dewy finish. The key benefits of this cream is anti-shine, evens out skin tone and boosts a glow, blurs imperfections, moisturises the skin and has an SPF of 20.
Avon Ideal Flawless R89: I first discovered this BB cream while watching a Pixiwoo tutorial and they gave it such a great review I ordered some while in London but they also available in SA. I love this BB cream it may even be one of my favourite budget BB creams. It has great coverage like it was a foundation and really even’s out the skin tone. Its lightweight so feels amazing on the skin with mineral pigments and doesn’t clog your pores. Infused with moisturisers, antioxidants, and Vitamin E which helps hydrate your skin and has an SPF of 15. I love the finish it leaves on my skin and yes there is a shade for me so that makes me happy. It doesn’t go as far as dark skin but it has quite a good selection in comparison to other budget brands.
Revlon Photoready R149: I really like the photoready collection and finally tried the BB cream. To get my shade I mixed the medium and the dark so this range hasn’t got a great selection of shades but I really love the finish and how my skin looks and feels. This is the most sheer of the 3 but it leaves a beautiful dewy finish and to get more coverage then just apply more using your fingertips. This one has the highest SPF of the 3 of 30 but has the least shades sadly. Its lightweight and really feels like you aren’t wearing anything and great for those who hate waering foundation but need to even out skin.
I hope this article on BB creams was really helpful.
