Product Reviews

Loving the new makeup from Max Factor that landed on my desk this week. I am a massive of fan of mascara’s and eyeliners. As they are the quickest and easiest ways to enhance your eyes with really minimal effort. Mascara is literally my go to product for me as my lashes are really a bit on the sad side and I do love a chocolate eyeliner. I am always drawn to chocolate eyeshadows and liners as its my fail safe. Especially when it comes to my personal makeup and makes my hazel eyes pop.

Urban Decay just get it right when it comes to palette’s and this one is a beauty. The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette is an all matte palette that landed on my desk last week. It has 12 gorgeous shades that are perfect from day to night with my favourite shades being Extra Bitter and Lethal but also Magnet for a gorgeous subtle grey smokey eye. The palette launched in SA last week Friday so I decided to film a tutorial while reviewing it at the same time.

The gorgeous Chanel Rouge Allure Ink red lipsticks have landed in SA and are in stores now. I decided to shoot a video with me chatting about these beauties and create a tutorial as well. Red lipstick will aleays be a trend and so classic and there are so many ways to wear a red lip. In this video I decided to create a a chocolate/gold eye that matches the lipstick perfectly for a night out on the town. I didn’t realise through filming some how I had managed to get red lipstick on my nose which made me laugh and I decided to not re film and publish anyway.

I am always on the hunt for new foundations for shoots and for myself. My favourite is a liquid foundation that will keep skin hydrated and looking dewy without too much shine. Introducing the new Smashbox Studio Skin foundation and concealer which I put to to the test on my beauty shoot. I am 100% in love with this foundation because it looks amazing on the skin and looks amazing in front of the camera which is super important. Plus the complexion looks super flawless.

The Body Shop are launching a whole load of new products from makeup to skincare and I have to say I am loving their new face masks that landed on my desk. I got my hands on these two the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask and the Ethopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask. I gave both a go to see whaich was my favourite and wanted to share with my readers how great they both are. But I am swaying towards the Body Shop Ethopian Honey right now.

After being introduced to the Revlon Instafix that is perfect for all over coverage and definitely gives the Bobbi Brown foundation stick a run for its money. Now they have introduced the Revlon Insta-fix highlighting stick in gold light and pink light that compliments the foundation and gives that really natural lit from within look that we are all striving for. Each highlighter comes with an Instafix foundation duo set for your contouring needs and a highlighter to give your skin that gorgeous radiant complexion.

Chanel have done it again by introducing another gorgeous foundation to their makeup collection. I already fell in   love with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation earlier this year.  When the new foundation landed on my desk I was super excited to try. Introducing the Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue foundation (R990) which I tried and tested on my model Anica for the Tamara Cherie SS16 look book and editorial.

I am a massive fan of matt lips because firstly because they last longer and also because they look great. The new Revlon HD Ultra HD Matte lipcolour is the latest from Revlon and pretty amazing if you ask me. I love the new sleek packaging its totally different to how Revlon usually package their lipsticks. I put the red shade to the test on Monday to see how it looked on and how long it would last.

For those of you who love wearing a matt lippie but hate that your lips feel seriously dry and that they are about to crack then the Smashbox Insta-Matt may be the answer to your prayers. Normally when I use a matt lipstick on myself or a model then I apply a lip balm but this sometimes takes away the matt texture which is definitely not a good thing so having this product really will make it way more comfortable on the lips. At the Smashbox launch at the end of last year we got to test out this new product on the Smashbox lipsticks to see for yourselves.

Anything Chanel launching I am always excited and when the delivery man comes with a box from Chanel my day has literally been made especially since the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation is finally here. If you don’t know anything about the Les Beiges line its all about healthy glowing skin which started out with powders and then some gorgeous bronzers and now the foundation is being added to the family. For those of you based in SA its heading your way on the 19th Feb so you better put that date in the diary if you want to go test this one out. There are 12 shades in the collection so hopefully there is one for you, it comes in a 30ml pump bottle and retails at R785.
