Its been some time since I have really focused on drugstore makeup. With my drugstore tutorial going live this week I thought it would be great to share what I have personally been loving. Its really been a couple of months of loads of new launches and actually I still have loads to get through. I never say no to a mascara or a gorgeous red lippie and I promise you will love my selections.
Its been a while since I have used a different concealer its been the Benefit Boo-ing for so long. I bought the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer (R160) to add to my kit but I have actually stolen it for myself. Its got an easy to use applicator that I dot under my eyes. Then blend in with fingers or a brush. It totally takes away any darkness under the eyes and brightens the whole area. Plus its super hydrating and I just love it.
If you haven’t heard of the makeup range Mark. by Avon its definitely a range worth checking out. I got my hands on some of the lippies, liners and mascara. I absolutely love the Mark The Bold lipsticks as they have an amazing colour payoff that are vibrant and absolutely beautiful. I featured the Rebel Red shade in my tutorial so I wanted to share the love in this post on the gorgeous shade. Check out the behind the scenes video of the makeup in action. Love Love Love:
Catrice are actually a surprisingly good drugstore brand. Everything I have got my hands on I have actually really liked. The Deluxe Glow Highlighter (R87) has 3 shades that are super subtle but give a very pretty shimmer that looks almost natural. The 3 shades champagne, rose and bronze are great for light to medium skin tones. The powder is super soft and really feels like you have nothing on. The glow powders have fine shimmer powders that give a beautiful natural radiance. Plus they are enriched with Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil so also have some skincare benefits as well. Apply to the top of your cheek bones, brow bone, bridge of the nose and cupids bow.
I love mascara and I really just can’t be without. Max Factor are launching the False Lash Epic (R205.95) that has two parts to the applicator. The longer part coats all the lashes and the end of the applicator gets into the inner corner or the eyes as well as getting right into the roots(plus can separate the lashes taking away any clumping). The mascara gives great volume without smudging and just totally awakens up my eyes. This bad boy was created by non other than the rock star that is Pat Macgrath so you know its going to be good. Launching next week you will want to get your hands on this one.
Last up the Body Shop Down To Earth eyeshadow in Atacama Desert (R30) is a gorgeous peach/orange eyeshadow. Its one of those shades that you can define an eye with or just sweep across your lid. Its definitely a spring/summer shade but if you feeling a bit washed out this shade can definitely brighten things up. Whats great with Body Shops range of eyeshadows is that you can create your own palette at such an affordable price. The shadows come in different textures and are all 100% vegan.
All worth checking out.
