Its that time of year in Cape Town where the weather is starting to shift. We are about to hit my birthday month which is the middle of Autumn the days are getting cooler although we still have some hot days. Its definitely time to start thinking about changing my makeup. So this post is all about getting ready for Autumn/Winter lipstick shades and taking it from pops of colour to deep reds and berrys. I have a massive lipstick collection being a makeup artist but also being a blogger there are forever lipsticks coming my way. You all know I do love a matt lipstick but there is something quite beautiful when we see a glossy dark lip.
Mac Cosmetics is one of those brands thats literally got every shade and when it comes to dark colours they have it down. I was recently given two new shades the Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in High Drama and Matt Instigator. The AW 16 season has a big nod towards the dark lip. Whether its a fresh face and a lip or lots of mascara and liner to make it more grungey. High Drama is on the darker berry side with Instigator is a bit more on the purple side of berry. Both look amazing and if you fancy a bit of gloss than laquer away on top of these bad boys.
If you like the berry trend but don’t want to be too bold but still want to get that AW look. Then either make a stain out of your lippie or try out the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Noir Moderne. Its super sheer but gives the hint of the berry lip that looks pretty but won’t frighten you if you just can’t take that super bold lip.
If you are working more on the budget side of makeup then Maybelline are launching some new shades from their Colour Sensational line. The Bold Midnight Merlot is absolutely gorgeous and definitey hits the nail on the head when it comes to the berry trend. Will definitely be rocking this new lippie this season.(wearing the lippie in th pic)
If you really don’t like the berry shades but lean towards the more red side of things there are 3 gorgeous shades to consider. Retro Red form the Rimmel Rose Gold Kate Moss collection is a deeper red with a subtle nod in the plum family but is not too bold and is one that you can wear all year round. The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour in Addiction is a little darker than the Rimmel shade with a bit more plum too it. Last up Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Bawse is a gorgeous dep red that looks absolutely gorgeous on and its just a classic lip colour.
