July Goals

Being away really helps you to take a step back and look at life what you are doing and where you want to be. This year has been lots of change. I have lots of new exciting things I have planned that is totally out of my current industry. There comes certain points in your life where you need change or need to do more with your life. I changed my career to a makeup artist in my early 30’s and now I just want to do more. Its definitely a bit of world domination or just a finger in a few pies. To inspire myself I decided to write to about my July Goals and maybe just inspire a few to make a change or make life a bit better.

1.Exercise has been key in this month’s goals. All my adult life I have battled with exercising  as really unless you are playing a fun sport going to the gym is just a pain in my ass. I have totally changed my mind set especially since turning 41 and its time to get fit and stay there. I actually surprised myself and have been training 3/4 times a week since being on holiday which trust me its unheard of. I am playing squash again with my darling husband and trying new things out. If you looking for something fun try POUND at Virgin Active its a fun filled class using drumsticks with about 500 squats thrown in but its an amazing work out.

2.I made a promise to myself to broaden my horizons when it comes to hairstyling. In my industry if you want to work you have to be good a both hair and makeup. For those of you that regularly follow me you saw that I did an amazing briading course in London this month. So as soon as I am back in Cape Town I will be shooting some personal projects showcasing my new skills. I am back in London in August for some more hair training so watch this space. This month has definitely been abot improving and learning new things.

3.Being with my family on holiday with their cousins has been so amazing. We spend time with our kids but most of the time we are all on our phones or iPads. My mum has been pushing us to spend actual quality time with our kids and spend time talking. My July goals are definitely do a meal out each week with my kids and husband with no technology and just having some real quality family time.

4.I have an exciting new project happening with a friend of mine so this month has been perfect working on it. Its events based which is what I used to do before and its going to be amazing. I have luckily been able to work on this project as I have time on my hands relaxing on holiday. Which really isn’t something I do much. I have really been taking care of myself and just relaxing rather than out non stop leaving me totally exhausted.

Only jalf way through the month and next stop Spain to have some fun in the sun with friends and family. Getting back to reality is going to be hard but I have made a promise to myself to be the best that I can be.

What’s your July goals?
