Its that time of the year that I am burning the candles at both ends. I am on set every day on shoots, trying to blog in around my schedule as well as birthdays and parties I have to say I am pretty exhausted. Concealer is one of those products that I can’t live without apart from mascara to cover up  those dark circles and make me look fresh and awake.

I have a whole array of concealers in my kit and in my personal stash but at the moment I am loving the creamy texture and the highlighting pens to help take away any trace of tiredness. These aren’t any new products by any means and I have written about them before but its the time of year where we all need some beauty tips.

The Clarins Instant Concealer works wonders in taking those circles away its one of those quick fixers hiding redness, blemishes and dark circles and the best part is its not heavy and has a light coverage. Its probably one of the best concealers I have tried plus its got a dewy texture so my under eye area is hydrated and I still have my whole glowing skin going on.

The Revlon Colour Stay Concealer is also a goody plus its your budget option of concealers and is surprisingly good. Revlon have definitely uped their game when it comes to their makeup. This one is creamy in texture and has been described as the budget dupe for the Nars creamy concealer. Love this one to blend into the skin with my blending brush and create a seamless finish under my eyes and on my face.

Now with concealers if you want to hide the darkness there must be some light. Now the highlighter pens don’t conceal on their own but they can be used in combination with a concealer to give light to the areas where needed. Elizabeth Arden brought out a whole set of correcting perfector pens so if you can’t quite afford the YSL Touche Eclat these ones are just as good. Once I apply my concealer I then dot under my eyes with the highlighter pen and blend in and voila I look fresh as a daisy.

What’s your favourite concealer?

  1. I use the Black Opal range of concelears for my chocolate skin. A budget besty of mine is the HD LA pro concelears at Dischen for R50. They work so well for all over-face coverage. The price will drive you away but they are creamy and are great for highlighting and contouring too. My holy grail is of course both MAC and Inglot under eyer concelears. Great piece again!
