In this shoot for Poetry the makeup vibe was English Rose makeup obviously this look won’t work for everyone because its for a paler complexion but if you are darker skin you can still work the flush on the cheek and a stained lip.
Its a pretty spring/summer look and its so easy to achieve at home. The key here is getting your base right and making sure your skin is hydrated. Yes I know I constantly repeat myself when it comes to skincare but trust me its the key to getting it right. For the stained lip I used a berry shade from Mac and just with my fingertips I pressed the lipsticks onto the lips, it gives a more matt finish and isn’t too bold and easy to carry off day or night. For the cheeks I used a pink blush to get the flush cheek as the model was very pale so it really gave the feeling of the English Rose. The rest of the face was kept super clean and skin was prepped with Dermalogica skincare. I went for a richer moisturiser the Active Moist to give a more dewy effect to the skin.
You don’t have to go for a berry shade you can create the same look with a red or a deeper pink shade to get the stained lip effect. In this shoot I used one of my Mac Pro Lip Palettes and the shade was One To Watch. For the look with the cakes the lip got chaged to pink which looked beautiful with the pink flushed cheeks and all the pink cakes.
