Clarins invited us to a beautiful launch end of last year at Shimmy Beach Club (felt very spoilt). The launch was all about new skincare, fragrances and their make up launching in the first quarter of 2014. Which brings me to the Clarins makeup. I have been busy playing with the makeup on myself and for the Elle Birthday Shoot out now.
I did feature the Instant Concealer a few times in my posts and it featured in my best beauty finds for 2013 and my New Years Eve Look. This concealer retails at R310 is one of my favs at the moment and its perfect for those tired eyes. Its tinted to mask the colour of dark circles under the eyes while restoring the skin’s natural tone. Apply with your ring finger and lightly dab under the eye area. The concealer’s active ingredients are Aloe Vera extract which is smoothing and comforting action, Caffine for the dark circles, light optimising and complex which is exclusive which is exclusive to Clarins which instantly captures, diffuses and amplifies light leaving the under eye area looking radiant.
I am loving the Crayon Kohl Long Lasting Eye Pencil which retail at R235 they are perfect on their own or as part of a smokey eye look. I used the plum pencil for a subtle smokey look for one of the looks for Elle magazine will be posting next month perfect to go with a dark berry lip. They are very easy to apply and glide on beautifully and come in 8 shades Intense Black, Smokey Plum, Intense Blue, Bronze, Intense Brown, Platinum and Taupe. They can be either used to line the eyes for a subtle smokey and then smudge on the top lash line or I have used them and then applied a powder eyeshadow on the lid and then reapply on the top lash line to create intensity or apply a feline flick just using the black pencil. The pencils have an active ingredient called Alchemilla which offers anti free radical protection.
This is the twins for the April issue of Elle where I based the eyes with the smokey plum liner to create a somkey effect and applied in the waterline. The liner is amazing to create a smokey eye on its own or as a base for an eyeshadow.
Clarins have launched the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in Forest retailing at R425 which is a combination of khaki green, satin taupe, intense bronze and a pale gold. A pefect palette for a smokey eye used in combination with the liner. You can create a more subtle shimmery eye and then add the darker shades to create a smokey eye for the evening. I love the texture and its very easy to blend.
If you are a fan of Clarins makeup there are a few more lovely products launching hopefully by June but you will just have to watch this space to find out what they are.
