The Neutral Palettes

I have been riffling through my makeup stash and oh yes added yet another palette to my ridiculously large makeup collection. I tell myself I am a makeup artist so of course I need it? Who doesn’t need neutral tone plattes? Admittedly they are all slightly different with shades that can take you from night to day. Here is a selection of my palettes to help you decide.

So let’s begin with the latest addition to my palettes the Mac Warm Neutral Palette which cost me a pretty penny at R1200 my thought process was I need a palette that has all the neutrals in one place right? If you are a makeup artist like me then you may need one of these but for the average makeup girl this may be a bit costly or on the other hand you are telling yourself you need it. Shades start from the champagne shimmer, pretty pinks and all shades of taupes and bronzes finishing off with a dark chocolate shade. Perfect for day time and then to work into a night time smokey eye. You know you are in for a goodie with Mac eyeshadows as they are beautifully pigmented and have a beautiful finish.

The Naked Decay Urban 2 Naked Palette has been in my stash for a while puchashed overseas and sadly not available in SA but call upon your friends overseas if you need this in your life alternatively there is the latest no 3 addition but I have yet to try. The no 2 has everything a girl needs from the pale shimmer, to taupes and bronzes then going into the sexy smokey shades of black and gun metal grey. Of course my absolute favourites are the beautiful neutral taupe shades of Naked and Buck that are perfect for that barely there look.

A big favourite of mine and one I have used quite a bit is the Stila Natural Eyshadow palette and not far off from the Naked Palette just missing some shades, this palette retails at R435 which in my eyes is a pretty good price, plus it comes with an eyeliner so even more better value. The shades are beautiful and as you can see the chocolate shade has been attacked the most beacuse its a great shade to work into the crease and into the brow bone to give that extra definition and a more modern smokey eye. The perfect palette for the every day girl to take her makeup from day to a sexy sultry smokey eye for a girks night or a date night.

Moving onto the Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess Palette its a small one so easy to fit into your hand bag and the packaging that just immediately wins you over before you have even tried it. Its not cheap but its a winner With 4 shades the palette has a prime shade which is a pretty champagne shimmer, the enhance shade which is a mixture of grey and taupe, the smoke shade a chocolate shade and the pop shade a beautiful bronze shimmer shade that you pop onto the centre of the lids. I have fallen in love with this one.

If you are on a budget and really can’t even think to spend all this money on an eyeshadow palette but still want to go in the neutral direction and be able to dress it up with a smokey eye then the Catrice Absolute Nude Palette is a nice one to get retailing at R80 you can’t go wrong. Sadly all the shades have a shimmer so no matt in this little palette but with such a great price surely you can invest in some matt shades too!

Happy makeup shopping.
