Last week I attended a Revlon and Maybelline launch to hear about what’s coming our way in 2016. Dark skin foundations has always been in issue in SA because the majority of the brands just don’t have anough shades for the darker skin tones. Of course brands like Mac and Bobbi Brown have a great shade range but not everyone can afford it. The great thing about the budget brands as they have been working hard to get more shades and different textures for the darker skin tones. So here are great drugstore foundations for darker skintones:

Revlon Colour Stay foundation is their top selling foundation worldwide and its so exciting to hear that they are adding more shades and now there will be 28 shades to choose from instead of the previous 18 and all the new shades are for the darker tones. YAY I say. As well as the new shades the bottle now has a pump so no more wasteage meaning foundation will last that little bit longer. As well as the liquid foundation there is now the Revlon Colourstay compact version which I did post about a couple of weeks ago but has a great darker skintone offering and comes with the concealer in one. A great product to either work with fingers or a sponge to get a natural looking finish.

If you haven’t already tried the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation is a goodie for darker girls that struggle with an oily complexion but still want that beautiful finish and even skin tone. This foundation is perfect to work in with fingers all over so that it looks super natural as well as keeping your skin hydrated all day long.
