Its been a month of lots of new products to play around with especially with makeup. Some products I literally use every day and can't live without when it comes to my personal stash and some fav's when I am on set. The list was so easy to put together because there has been so much to choose from all the way from the budget brands to the high end brands plus my skin has never felt better. I have theown in a couple products from my UK haul have been thrown in after my quick visit to London to surprise one of my best mate's for her 40th.
My latest editorial for Marie Claire SA March issue just came out and I wanted to share the simple makeup look I created for the editorial. As the clothes were so bold I really didn't want to take away from the prints but still wanted to the makeup to look cool and fit the look of the model Barbara. This look is an effortless khaki green smokey eye using the Clarins Pretty Day to Night palette.
I have totally become dedicated in 2016 to working out and staying fit and I think its because I am turning 40 in April and its freaking me out a bit. Its basically been all about getting new workout clothes so that I feel good about how I look when I am off to the gym as we need to look good while working out right? Especially when the classes are full of models that I work with that are literally half the size of me.
Recently I posted some Bridal inspiration for any of you ladies out there who are getting married soon plus I was also deciding on what makeup I was thinking of for my renewal coming up next month. This week I am sharing some pretty bridal makeup looks for Marie Claire out in this months issue which are so simple but so beautiful. Even though the model has a darker skin tone this will also work for you fairer gals.
Ombre Eye Makeup Tutorial From Elle Beauty ShootIn this video I am on set for Elle magazine shooting the March issue beauty editorial with model Hilda from Fusion. This look is a trend look a quick easy ombre eye makeup tutorial. Its a looks super cool with fresh skin and and a nude lip.
My latest beauty editorial in the Elle magazine SA March issue is out and I have to say I am totally in love with it. I had wanted to do as creative eye story for some time that still had trend elements to it and the beauty editor Nicole let me do the research and put my ideas forward and voila here it is. Its all about different ways to work the eyes whether its a wearable day to day look or a bold look we cover it all. The opening look its all about the gold eyes with a graphic element the best way to create your shape is with a brush like the Mac 212 Definer brush it makes it so easy and then take a flat brush to fill on the rest.
Colbalt Blue Eyeliner Tutorial for Elle MagazineHere is my latest video tutorial on set for Elle Magazine South Africa shooting an eye editorial with the beautiful model Hilda from Fusion. I decided what best way to do a video was on set to see the magic happening. This video is a cobalt blue eyeliner tutorial and I wanted to show this one because its a massive trend look. Hilda's skin is already prepped with Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude foundation and the Mac Pro and Conceal Palette in Light. I filled brows in already using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow palette and finished off lashes with new Smashbox X-rated mascara.
So far I am loving 2016 with some amazing new makeup launches and this week I got to play around with the new Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24HR Foundation. I am normally a liquid foundation kind of a girl but its always great to try the latest powder foundations and see how they work out. Lancome are known for beautiful makeup and gorgeous foundations and I have to say even though I don't normally go for powders I like this one. Its a great alternative to a liquid foundation if you are not a fan of wearing a base. Its super light and feels like you are wearing absolutely nothing on your skin.
I am all about the bold lipsticks and usually I reach for a red, orange or a bright pink but when I laid my eyes on the new colours from Smashbox Tabloid jumped out at me. Smashbox are bringing out a whole new range of Be Legendary lipstick shades in matte and cream much to my happiness covering pretty much all your skin tones.
The New York Fashion Week AW16 shows have kicked off and I have been busy looking what's my fav so far. Some looks are bold and a bit out there and only really great for the catwalk or a shoot but this easy liner look from the Herver Leger show stands out as it looks cool and its so easy to do.
