The Filorga Scrub and Mask Reoxygenating and exfoliating mask (R770) landed on my desk a couple of weeks ago and this week I decided to give it a try and see if Filorga have done it again. An amazing skincare brand from Paris that so far has never failed me and this time I say they have done it again. Its a scrub and mask that starts out feeling like a face scrub but over time turns into a mask that you can feel working on your skin.
Being on holiday really gives you time to reflect on work, life and prety much everything else when you actually stop for a minute and just breath. Even though I am away with my kids they are at that age where they actually let us relax and have their own fun. So while away I decided I need to get organised before I get back to Cape Town and work gets busier and my first place to start is my social media accounts which really reflects me and my work. A while back I was told to keep my makeup Instagram seperate from my blogging and personal life and while I have been just recently posting work I decided while I am sitting by the pool and literally doing nothing I might as well do a clean up.
Hydration Hydration Hydration is the key to summer skin. Being in the sun can be harsh on the skin especially if you burn but your skin can also get dry and dehydrated. I am currently in the sun and already I can feel my skin needs serious hydration. As well as being on a long haul flight the combination of flying and the sun my skin needs a boost. Here are a few items that are winners to helping soothe your skin but also keep it glowing amd super smooth.
Last week I got to attend the Maybelline launch showcasing 4 key trend looks with new Maybelline makeup launches coming our way in SA. Makeup artist and Maybelline ambassador Linda O'Connell talked us through the trends and what products to use to achieve it. I luckily got to snap the model's up close to show my readers how amazing the makeup looks and. Maybelline are all about the IT looks so here they are and here is what is coming our way:
Happy days when the Chanel In the Summer Light Makeup Collection hit my desk as they always bring out a gorgoeous selection of shades and textures and of course Les Beiges bronzers are always a must in the makeup stash. Already in stores this collection really is one of my favourite because I love bronze and gold shades for summer when it comes to the eyes. I got my hands from the key pieces from the collection and no they are not going in my pro kit as I love it so much.
Its that time of year again where I take my kids on holiday with the rentals for a month and get some sun and leave Cape Town winter. Each year I like to post my beach bag beauty essentials and each year there have been some new products that are joing the edit. Its so important to have certain key items not only to look after yourself but also there need to be some relaxation end enjoyment. Of course my kindle stays firmly in the beach edit because I need to down time from all the craziness but here is the list:
I have been working with a South African stylist on the finishing touches for my home as I never have the time to source pieces and well an interior designer always has a better eye. In my quest for pieces for my wall I came across some gorgeous prints at Superbalist that are ridiculously cheap at R99 each but look really amazing. Who knew that you could spruce up a wall for so little money. So if you haven't checked out what's on offer check out their amazing wall art.
Masques are one item that is key to my beauty routine and its something that I recommend to friends and to models when it comes to looking after your skin. Kiehls is one of those brands that are always recommend because it really works wonders for the complexion. They have added to new masques to their skincare range and I luckily got my hands on the Kiehl's Tumeric and Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque that is perfect for giving a boost to a dull complexion leaving your face feeling fresh and so soft.
Bridal shoots can be a little on the cheesy side but shooting this Wedding Album editorial was fun and it made me look at bridal shoots in a whole different light. The theme for the editorial was Vegas motel and wedding chapel with girls that looked like they were bored and really not interested in getting married but more about looking fabulous. With a whole array of bridal dresses to choose from Wedding Album is definitely one you need to get your hands on if you are looking to get married.
Yesterday on set with Elle beauty I helped beauty editor Nicole Newman show how to rock the glitter trend. Nicole wanted to show the Elle readers how to incorporate glitter into your makeup whether its on brows, lids, lips or nails. Of course I was happy to help show how to rock this trend and get to share with all my readers.
