Skincare is key to to good makeup and there are certain brands that just get it right and the French well they have skincare down to a T. The PR team that look after tjhe brand in SA kindly sent me some products to test out as I am already a big fan of the product. I have been putting 5 of the products to the test while overseas and so far I am loving all of them. I have combined the Physiolift line for day and night and under eyes with the Hydrance serum and Micellar Lotion and the combination is happy skin.
I am totally all about the face masks and its a key part of my beauty routine. I never use the same mask all week long and usually like to mix it up depending on what my skin needs. I love trying new masks out so when I got my hands on the new Clarins Extra Firming Mask I was pretty excited to get busy testing. Its Clarins first anti-ageing mask to offer a solution to stress and fatigue. Definitely need this one in my life!!!
My latest work is out now for Glamour South Africa is out now the Out Of Africa editorial with 4 models showing us how prints should be worn. The look for the shoot was really simple as the clothes are so bold but its a beautiful every day makeup look. The key to this look is beautiful skin and enhancing eyes, brows, cheeks and lips that just simply looks stunning.
After being introduced to the Revlon Instafix that is perfect for all over coverage and definitely gives the Bobbi Brown foundation stick a run for its money. Now they have introduced the Revlon Insta-fix highlighting stick in gold light and pink light that compliments the foundation and gives that really natural lit from within look that we are all striving for. Each highlighter comes with an Instafix foundation duo set for your contouring needs and a highlighter to give your skin that gorgeous radiant complexion.
Already on counters in South Africa this beauty Clarins Rosewood eyeshadow palette (R495) and Supra Masacara (R295) are the perfect combo for a smokey eye. I love an alternative to the usual browns and blacks when it comes to creating a soft pretty smokey eye plus nothing quite finishes it off like a volume mascara.
It seems this year I am constantly on the move travelling for weddings and a whole load of other events. I am travelling again to do a little buying trip in London and catch up with friends so I have a few items that are key for travelling and being on the go. There are certain items that are always in my bag for touch ups and I always need my accessories as well.
Chanel have done it again by introducing another gorgeous foundation to their makeup collection. I already fell in love with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation earlier this year. When the new foundation landed on my desk I was super excited to try. Introducing the Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue foundation (R990) which I tried and tested on my model Anica for the Tamara Cherie SS16 look book and editorial.
When I am booked for makeup on a shoot quite a lot of the times the client wants a beautiful natural look but to really enhance the eyes. So I have been playing around with some items in my kit to see what works best and how I can really enhance the eyes. In my editorial shoot this week for a local South African magazine I created a pretty look for the model Jeannie really focusing on her eyes and giving her gorgeous fresh skin.
Sadly I missed the Mac SS16 presentation but luckily I got my hands on a few key items and the coveted trend book that all us makeup artists want to get our hands on. There are always 4 key trends that Mac present as well as they products for each trend. SS16 has a variety of makeup trends from the bold colours, lashes, orange/red lips, a whole load of glitter and of course the no makeup makeup trend that always seems to be in.
I love love love mascara its literally the one thing I can't live without when it comes to makeup. I am always on the look out for new mascara's that will give my very sad lashes some life and one that I can use on a shoot. Even better when its a budget mascara that won't break the bank. Bourjois is a great brand that never fails to impress and their latest offering the Bourjois Volume Reveal mascara I am very happy to have found a new goodie.
