In this glowing skin makeup tutorial I wanted to show how important skincare is when it comes to achieving a glowing complexion. Without a good skincare routine makeup will never look dewy so its key you exfoliate, apply masks and the rest. I chat about a great hydsrating masks, facial oils and basically layer up that skincare before I even get to the makeup part. This look is perfect for those of you who don't like to wear loads of makeup but want to look heathy. Its also a great look for day time as its super fresh and polished.
Seems like I just filmed my September beauty favourite's video time is going so fast. In my October beauty favourites I chat about a mixed bag. Of course with makeup being the main contender as I am surrounded by it due to my job. I have been playing around with some new goodies that I have purchased. As well as some goodies that have been sent my way to play with. Its definitely a month on taking care of your body as well as your complexion. With oils and deep nourishing products being the order of the day.
It seems I can never get enough of an eyeshadow palette. Everytime I buy one or get one from one of the PR companies its like Christmas has come early. I am totally loving the new Body Shop Down To Earth palettes that come in a whole variety of shades. I got my hands on this grey shadow palette in no 3 which is a combination of grey's. The best way for me to test out products is or on a shoot so that's what I did. I did a beauty portrait shoot with 5 gorgeous girls and for the palette I created a smokey eye on Janke.
I am so lucky being a beauty blogger and makeup artist I get to test out lots of skincare ensuring I have a glowing dewy complexion. I am forever changing up my skincare routine which include these two beauties the Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil and Filorga Time Zero Mutli Correction wrinkles serum. Its been a stressful month for me with some serious sleep deprevation at times which totally affects my skin meaning I need a serious amount of love on my skin that even drinking copious amounts of water won't help. The weather is totally changing in Cape Town so I need to make sure my face is hydrated and glowing all day long.
Urban Decay just get it right when it comes to palette's and this one is a beauty. The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette is an all matte palette that landed on my desk last week. It has 12 gorgeous shades that are perfect from day to night with my favourite shades being Extra Bitter and Lethal but also Magnet for a gorgeous subtle grey smokey eye. The palette launched in SA last week Friday so I decided to film a tutorial while reviewing it at the same time.
Lipsticks are definitelty a great way to boost your complexion or just complete a whole look. I am love love loving the new Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Bold Liquid Lipsticks (R295). They are unlike any lipsticks Elizabeth Arden has launched before and they are super pretty on. Launching next week in SA these lippies are part of Liquid Assets collection. That also include liquid liners that I will be featuring in a video tutorial soon.
Yes the weather is finally changing to gorgeous summer days and while some of you might me thinking I am so pale and tired its time to step it up. There are a few ways to get that gorgeous summer glowing skin to help you on your way and remember its not always beauty products you also need to eat right and get your water dosage in too. A good skincare routine is important plus a few makeup items as well. So here are my tips on how to get your summer glow on:
Since this look was seen on the red carpet ond on fashion week its literally become the next big thing. The mermaid eye makeup look is a combination of blue's and green's that really quite dramatic but also so pretty. I filmed this video with one of my BFF's Afareen. To create the look I used a combination of navy blue and turquoise blue. These shades of blue look so pretty on Afareen and its perfect for a night out on the town.
The gorgeous Chanel Rouge Allure Ink red lipsticks have landed in SA and are in stores now. I decided to shoot a video with me chatting about these beauties and create a tutorial as well. Red lipstick will aleays be a trend and so classic and there are so many ways to wear a red lip. In this video I decided to create a a chocolate/gold eye that matches the lipstick perfectly for a night out on the town. I didn't realise through filming some how I had managed to get red lipstick on my nose which made me laugh and I decided to not re film and publish anyway.
Its the time to change up your makeup and each week I have been filming tutorials with that in mind. Its definitely time to play with colour whether its day or night. I normally don't wear any colour during the day but lately I have been inspired to change it up. I love a bold lip but rather than leaving it at that and just applying a lick of mascara I added a pop of colour to my eyes. The makeup I did yesterday is definitely a pretty spring makeup look that is really easy to achieve.
