Its that time of year in Cape Town where the weather is starting to shift. We are about to hit my birthday month which is the middle of Autumn the days are getting cooler although we still have some hot days. Its definitely time to start thinking about changing my makeup. So this post is all about getting ready for Autumn/Winter lipstick shades and taking it from pops of colour to deep reds and berrys. I have a massive lipstick collection being a makeup artist but also being a blogger there are forever lipsticks coming my way. You all know I do love a matt lipstick but there is something quite beautiful when we see a glossy dark lip.
I got this foundation brush from Urban Decay at the end of last year and have totally fallen in love with it. Its the Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush which I have been using it on myself and on models to apply foundation. Its one of those brushes you can use for a multiple of things. But so far my fav has been creating a flawless complexion. My favourite brush always changes and at the moment this is the fav. I was defintely a slap it on with fingers kind of girl until recently. Purely because having kids you have about 2 minutes to get your face on. This brush has changed my ways and I really think its for the best because my face looks flawless. Well so I think any way.
Its that time of the month again when I chat about all my beauty favourites for the month. This month yes I am on time unlike last month where it was half way through this month. Its all about beautiful glowing skin using face mists and highlighters as the key items and a few other bits thrown in. I wish I could have shown you the new Estee Lauder Double Wear 24HR Foundation that I am wearing. I am waiting for the full size as just got a sample to test first to see if its the right shade. But I will be shouting all about it in the next week or so. I tried to wear as much as I chatted about in the favourites video so you can see for yourself how it looks.
After working with the Mac pro team last week and testing out some of the skincare they used back stage I got myself to Mac to make some purchases. As you know I am all about the skincare so that skin looks amazing even before makeup is applied. If you follow fashion week around the world you will see that skincare is so important and the models always look so amazing. Last week I mentioned the skincare that was used backstage but decided to write a post on the Mac Cosmetic skincare bad boys. There are 3 items that really make a difference to the skin the Charged Water Spray skin hydrating mist, Prep and Prime natural radiance and the Mineralize charged water moisture gel. Combine them together and voila gorgeous illuminated glowing skin. My favourite combo.
Yesterday I joined the Mac pro tewam to do makeup at the Mercedes Benz Fashion week. As a Mac Top Tier member we got invited to join the team and make some magic happen. It was my first time at a show so I was pretty nervous but being surrounded by such amazing makeup artists I handled it really well. I got to play with new Mac products like the Extra Dimension highlighter in show gold and the Diane Kendal black kajal liner. In love with both. I also learnt how its really done backstage for the amazing skin and lots of new tricks which was really fun.
If you have been follwing my blog for a while you will know that I love anything that will contour and bronze my skin up. I never go without contouring my face so when I got the latest all in one Clarins Face Contour Palette I was one happy lady. Its got a highlighter, bronzer and blush so you just pop in your bag and apply on the go. Easy peasy and oh so very pretty. It came with a contour brush but it just didn't do it for me so am not including in the post.
Better late than never its my February beauty favourites that I finally got to film and was totally under the weather. So hope I don't look too bad. Its been a month of lots of makeup with a focus on the lips. There is a mixture here of new and old products but ones that I am loving. I tried to cover drugstore to high end with of course Chanel being a firm favourite for skincare.
This post is all about the Avene Eau Thermale Spring water spray and its benefits. Rather than do my usual posts where I write them all up and post some pics I decided to film a quick video chatting about how great the spring water spray is but also showing you the spray in action. Its one of those products that has multiple uses whether you have sensitive skin or you just need to cool down. Its one of those items everyone should have in their beauty stash.
A couple weeks ago I attended the launch of the gorgeous new Kiehls Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream. Its a super exciting new skincare moisturiser that is pretty much all natural that will leave your skin feeling amazing. We learnt about what makes the new cream so amazing plus a little yoga session to get us all relaxed. Unlike most creams this one is 99.6% all natural so for all you natural skincare lovers out there this one is for you. I have been using this bad boy for the last two weeks and can definitely say my skin feels smooth and so soft.
Introducing the new skincare from Dermalogica the Daily Superfoliant and the Age Reversal Eye Complex. I am always on the look out for skincare thats going to give me gorgeous glowing skin. I am obsessed with exfoliators as it makes my skin so smooth making sure that all my other skincare products really work. Its definitely a key part of my skincare routine and one that plays a big role in how my skin looks. Eye cream is another big one for me as I get seriously dehydrated and then the fine lines start to show. Plus the last thing I want is to look my age. Right?
