On my last shoot the team sat me down and asked me about the whole skincare process. So many people get confused or stressed about each step and what to splurge on and what to save on. There are really are so many steps from cleansing, to exfoliating and applying a masque. For me a face serum is one of those items you just need to splurge on and its a step that I never ever miss. I actually find applying a serum one of the most important steps when I am getting a model ready. Most of the time the models have been travelling a lot or are tired and a bit run down. Applying a serum gives that extra boost and hydration to the skin that a moisturiser on its own just can't.
If you haven't checked out thew latest Chanel Travel Diary Makeup Collection you are seriously missing out. I am so excited to share that Chanel will be spponsoring their makeup collections for my pro kit so that's big news in itself. The key element of the collection is the Palette Essential which is a cream highlighter, concealer and blusher all in one. Plus am totally loving the correctors and the nude lippie that looked so amazing on the model. I didn't play with the whole collection for the Tamara Cherie campaign shoot but you get the idea here. The products are so beautiful and everything just melts seamlessly in the skin.
Being a beauty blogger means I get to try out the most amazing makeup and skincare. At the Lancome launch a ciuple months ago our parting gift the Lancome Serum that's got me like OOHH. Obviously that's not its name but I am really quite in love with it and so is my skin. The Lancome Adanved Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate is the bomb. My skin is glowing and oh so silky smooth. Its Lancome's number 1 serum that promises to give you younger, glowing and more youthful skin. Plus since I have been using the serum everyone has been telling me how I am glowing. So happy days all around.
My recent shoot for MRP accseeories shoot I needed to add a little pop to the makeup. We all know that MRP is a youthful brand where the models have a fresh face and never too much makeup going on. The easiest way to add a pop of colour is normally eyes, cheeks or lips. When it comes to the darker skintones a pop of colour liner really works a treat. Blue eyeliner or anything blue for the eyes has always been a favourite of mine. And guess what the drugstore brands are catching on giving us some beautiful shades and textures. So here are a few favourite blue drugstore eyeliners that I wanted to share:
The gorgeous new Vista Matter of Fakt collection has just launched and its gorgeous. Luckliy I got to be involved with the new campaign doing both the hair and the makeup for really such a beautiful shoot. If you don't knoqw about the local South African brand you really are missing out. All the pieces are gold plated on brass so you can really get some beautiful affordable pieces. Mary-Ann the owner of Matter of Fakt has designed a combination of simple pices and a few pieces with semi precious stones that are absolutely stunning.
A gorgeous new range the Body Shop Drops of Light to brighten you skin, smooth and even out your complexion. With a promise to give you a beautiful luminous glow. . The products are enriched with red algea and vitamin C to help which help's with the skin's luminosity I got my hands on a selection of the range to test out and see what I thought and I have been busy testing out while am overseas. I definitely have a favourite out of the 3 the moisturiser but all in all I like the products plus I love the packaging.
Love Love Love the new L'Oreal Colour Riche Matte lipsticks that landed on my desk to play with. I love a matte lippie and I love lipstick in general. Its just one of those things that totally changes up your look and freshens everything up. My lipstick collection is starting to get on the crazy side because I never know what shade I will need when I go to a shoot. Often I get a brief and then it totally changes so I need every shade there is for every skin tone. A matte looks cool plus it stays on so you don't have to be applying every time you sip a drink and for me thats really important.
If you haven't heard about Glamglow or got your hands on one of these bad boys you are totally missing out. As you all know I love a masque and this one well its just heaven. They have a whole range of masques but I am always in need for something super hydrating as my skin gets dehydrated so easily. There are 7 masques available in SA from firming, exfoliating, clearing, brightening and more. So definitely something here for everyone. The Glamglow THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment Masque firstly smells like heaven but also leaves my skin feeling amazing. LOVE IT.
I decided last month to set myself some goals to work towards and really stick to them. I always make so many promises to myself at the beginning of the year but find I actually don't follow through. Last month I set myself some new goals and have been so proud of myself that I followed through especially when it came to my heath and fitness. This month its about following through sticking to being healthy but also set my work goals.
