I used to be one of those people that didn't really think about what I really needed to out into my body. I have been drinking hot water and lemon for ages but that was really enough to kick start my day. My mum has been a real inspiration for me and kicking my ass into gear to eat right and to make sure I exercise. The C9 detox helped me really get my head into gear, and now well I am training like crazy and starting my day eating right. It can be quite daunting stepping into a health food store because really the choices are endless. In this post I cover key benefits to some of the superfoods out there and how they can help you.
Skincare is just one of those things you don't leave out when it comes to looking your absolute best. For every shoot I literally pile that skincare on because base just doesn't look great if you have prepped. I came across the gorgeous Eco Diva skincare range from another makeup artist and I just love it. I love that its all natural and I absolutely love how my skin and my models skin feels. If you have oily skin then this one may not be for you as the serum is an oil base and the cream is super rich. My skin just loves it as its super dehydrated at the moment. The two products combined together is known as the double diva glow moisture kit well I just say please!!!
Its been a while since I touched on the topic of bronzer which is strange because I love a bronzer. Its one of my go to products for myself and its the best way to add colour and definition to the face. Two amazing bronzers landed on my desk last month and well I just don't want to share them with anyone. The Clarins limited edition Bronzing and Blush Compact from the new summer collection launching soon which I am totally obsessing over. Plus the new gorgeous Elizabeth Arden Forever Bronze Bronzing Powder from the new Tropical Escape Collection. Both are totally beautiful toattly lifting the complexion and add warmth and definition.
If you didn't catch my post about the amazing Elizabeth Arden Advanced Cermaide Capsules a few months ago then click here to see how amazing they were. This time we have the gorgeous new Elizabeth Arden Advanced Ceramide Eye Serum Capsules that I am totally obsessing over. The serum has an oily texture that totally makes my under eye area so soft and so hydrated that I want to cry with happiness. I really struggle with dehydration under my eyes when I am tired and stressed out. No more since using the capsules and I haven't even finished using all 60 yet.
The BON Natural Oils skincare range has totally impressed me and I was a little sceptical at first before I tried. Being a blogger and makeup artist I test out so many different brands from budget to high end. Some blow me away and some well they leave no lasting impression. I do love natural skincare specially for me as I do have senitive skin and am prone to things like exzcema. The BON range covers everything from babies, dehydrated skin, pregnancy and anti ageing which I love. The Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil spray has been my go to the last couple weeks since coming back from holiday. Love it. The products have no harmful ingredients, not tested on animals, safe for sensitive skin and babies. So for all of you who love it natural this is a brand that you need to check out. Plus really really affordable prices.
Love Love Love the Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer a primer anbd moisturiser in one. Its super light and feels absolutely amazing on the skin and really helps prep your face for your base. Smashbox are known for their amzing array of primers but this is their fist that combines both. The primer was created to help prep skin, moisturise and make sure foundation is locked into place.
Benefit boi-ing concealers have been my favourite for quite some time and at some point its all I chatted about. The origional boo-ing concealer (re-named industrial strength) was one that was featured in quite a lot of my makeup tutorials. Benefit have added more concealers to the boi-ing range and have made the packaging so girly and so pretty. Concealer is a must have in anyone's makeup bag no excuses its the one product that makes everything flawless. You can even work in some concealer where needed and not bother with base if you have a good complexion. What I love is that there are choices in the range. Sadly though they only have 3 shades so only for light to medium skin tones:
I do love a face mask its the time when I can pamper myself put my feet up and just relax for a moment. I am always on the look out for great skincare and when the Prevage City Smart double action mask (R850) landed on my desk I knew it would be a winner. The Prevage range is part of Elizabeth Arden and its just one that never fails to impress. The mask is a detox peel off mask that you leave on for a good 20 minutes which means feet up cup of tea and a book while you wait.
Coming out of winter means your skin may be in need of some serious hydration. Its definitely something I struggle with all year round so I am always on the search for skincare that will add hydration and give me a gorgeous natural glow. Introducing the Clarins Hydra Essentiel range that will help get your skin back to where it needs to be. There are 6 products in the range. I got to play with 3 but I love the double combo of the intensive moisture quenching bi-phase serum (R645) and the Silky Cream (560). Yes its on the pricey side of skincare so you need to decide is this something you want to invest in? Clarins is definitely a brand that won't let you down and your skin is definitely worth the investment right?
I wanted to create a shoot that highlighted the hair with a touch of quirky makeup. After all my hair training from the London Hair Academy I decided to shoot a hair editorial and Lucys Magazine decided to feature it. Happy Days. The main focus of the hair is braiding and the different braiding hair styles. I collaborated with local South African jewellery brand Matter Of Fakt to add extra dimension to the shoot plus dress the braids up a little bit. The cuffs are actual ear cuffs but you can so rock them in your hair. I tried to keep it simple with the skin, the jewellery and the nails so that all the real focus is on the hair styles.
