Most people stress when it comes to makeup and how to do a smokey eye and what base to use. Makeup can be really simple and really pretty. As long as your get your skin right everything should fall into place. This look was for a shoot I did a couple of weeks ago. They wanted amazing skin and a pop of colour on the lips. Its definitely a pretty summer makeup look because I have used a bold candy coloured pink lipstick. Plus paired it with a slightly rosy cheek and a pop of light pink on the eyes. The trick is getting your skincare right as well as using a base and highlighter that will illuminate your skin.

If you haven’t already got a great skincare routine then now is the time to up your game. The key steps are to make sure your skin is cleansed and clean before you begin. I love a face mist, serum and a moisturiser plus an eye cream as that under area needs to look hydrated. Also get yourself some glow drops to mix into your moisturiser if you are dehydrated or just have naturally dry skin this will really help. An illuminator mixed into your foundation will also really help. I am a massive fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow (which I used on the model) but you can’t get that in SA. Try the NYX Born to Glow (R149.95) and mix a pea size with your foundation there are 4 shades to choose from.

For this look I used the Mac Face and Body for the base because its super light and hydrating. I used Bobbi Brown creamy concealer under the eyes as the model’s skin was actually ridiculously perfect. For the eyes I went with a drugstore favourite I chatted about last week the Yardley Foxtail Lily quad eyeshadow. Then finished off lashes with Yardley Multi Effect Mascara which gives suprisingly good volume.

For the cheeks you can either go powder or cream. Here I used one of my favourite blush palettes the Morphe 9N Naturally Blushed palette. Its actaully on special at the moment at R350 on Muse Beauty so click here to check it out. Blush is a quick and easy way to make your makeup look pretty and add some colour to your face without taking away from the lips and eyes. Remember dust off any excess and build up.

For lips there are so many choices for a hot pink lipstick I mixed a few from my palette but Mac and so many others have pretty bright lipstick choices. NYX, L’Oreal and Revlon have a great selection so definitely worth checking out.

Makeup should be easy and not something that stresses people out. Keep following me for easy looks to recreate.
