For me makeup for every day needs to be simple and easy to do but that is also going to make you look fresh and pretty. In this post I wanted to do a simple winter makeup look with a winter lip. Showcasing the new Maybelline Matt Lipstick in Cruel Ruby because its the perfect winter red shade. Of course everyone is always looking on the pale side so bronzer is the perfect way to warm up your complexion as well.
Here are the key items I used for the winter makeup look:
I love the Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation it gives the feeling of healthy looking skin which is ideal in winter. Remember though your skincare routine is key at this time of year. The foundation gives a matt finish and totally evens out skin tone. Sadly there aren’t many shades so for me this one is good for this time of year where I am not tanned.
You can either blend with your hands, apply with a foundation brush or use a sponge but make sure its slightly damp before you apply the foundation so as to give that perfect finish.
Bronzer is everything for me during winter because I don’t like being pale at all and need a pick me up for my skin. The new Maybelline Master Bronzer Colour and Highlighting Kit is perfect and really affordable. Its got 3 shades plus a really pretty gold highlighter.
In this look I contoured my cheek bones, forehead and down my neck to warm everything up using my Zoeva brush.
Mascara is always key and with a fresh contoured face and a lip all you need is mascara for the eyes. It really doesn’t need to be complicated. This mascara is the new Elizabeth Arden Standing Ovation in Intense Black. Its not the most volumising mascara but it does make lashes look pretty and fanned out. I love that its smudge free and really lasts the day. Plus it softens and nourishes lashes with ingredients like Marula Nut Oil.
The Maybelline Colour Sensational Powder Matte Cruel Ruby lipstick really finishes off the look bringing it all together. Its a beautiful warm red that really works for my complexion. Make sure lips are hydrated before applying a matt lipstick just so they stay hydrated.
This winter makeup look is quick and easy and will take you no ore than 5 minutes for all you busy ladies and mums. Lipstick is the easiest way to give your look that extra something no need for some complicated smokey eye.
