Michael Kors Beauty Line

Michael Kors beauty line launches in South Africa today! So for all you beauty lovers out there you need to go check out the collection. I got my hands on some of the products and I really do like them. The packaging is so beautiful that you already want to buy them before you try the products. I am absoloutely loving the Sexy Flush for my cheeks its going to be featured in my December essentials because I love it that much and I have been testing out the lipsticks on my photoshoots and I am loving how they look in front of the camera.

The make up collection is split into 3 Sporty, Sexy and Glam as well as a body collection, sun collection and 3 perfumes that are linked to each make up collection. The make up and perfume and the key elements of the collection but the body and sun offerings portray Michael Kor’s love for the all over dewy, sun kissed look. Each collection is designed to create the burnished bronze skin, bold nails and beautiful lips that give Michael Kors woman her signature confidence and style.

The sporty collection is the nude shades. I have tried out the nude shade on a recent shoot its has a slight shimmer and its very hydtrating on the lips. I have been using the nude gloss on myself firstly I love the smell its got a hint of fruitiness (yummy) and its a pretty nude peachy gloss. The bronzer Glow in this collection lights up skin with a neutral tawny sheen. The perfume Sporty Citrus which I haven’t tried out yet is crisp with orange and madarin with warm woods and white florals linger in the background.

 

Sexy Collection: I included the pink lipstick in my trend bright lipstick picks recently its a beautiful shade and texture  and perfect for summer and the gloss is a pretty deeper pink shade with a touch of shimmer. The Sexy Flush is a rosy bronzer it looks amazing on the skin and I just love the packaging this will definitely be going in my pro kit. The perfume Sexy Amber is my favourite out of the 2 I have tried its a sexy smell and isn’t over powering its a mix of amber wrapped in sadlewood and musk, with orange, mandarin and white florals.

Glam Collection: Love the shades in this collection I haven’t tried them out yet but perfect for the AW13 trend in creating a berry lip and a dark nail. The perfume Glam Jasmine gives centre stage to Micheal Kor’s beloved floral note, jasmin, with warm woodsy notes and citrus are less prominant.

 

The Sun Collection: The Self tanner is like a liquid bronzer and can be either put straight onto your skin and give your self a healthy glow to your face which I did and it looks really natural or you could apply your foundation over once its been applied to skin. Its amber tinted with a fast acting formula  for instant sun kissed skin. As well as an after sun gel and lip balm designed to offer women a sun kissed glow all year round. After sun is so vital once you have been in the sun as its helps sooth skin and give back moisture that will have been lost while being in the sun. This gel has aloe with a hint of a fragrance. I absolutely love the gold packaging.

 

The Body Collection: This collection includes a cream, glistening body oil and fragrant bath beeds. The body collection was created because the Micheal Kors clothing is designed to accentuate the body with exposed shoulders and endless legs the rich moisturising cream and decadent scented oils becomes a necessary indulgence. I have gotten my hands on the body oil which leaves skin feeling amazing but its perfumed so if you are a lover of fragrances then you will love this oil. I have yet to try the bath beads so will keep you all posted but the beads when dissolved leave a shimmering gold veil on top of the water so very decadent.

The line launches today in Stuttafords at Sandton, East Gate, Gateway and Canal Walk in Cape Town. After mid Jan all the fragrances will be available in selected Edgars stores, Red Squares, Truworths, Woolworths and Foschini stores. Prices start from R215 for the nail polish with the most expensive make up is the bronze powder at R550 and the perfumes start from R630 for a 30ml, R885 for 50ml and R1130 for 100ml. The sun range prices start at R295 to R350 and for the body range from R460 to R615.
