Recently I have been asked about choosing different shades of lipsticks for different skin tones. I am going to focus on nude lipsticks as its a colour both great for a day look and paired with a smokey eye. Different skin tones suit different nude colours so which one are you?

A lot of make up artists when on fashion shows use a foundation to take out the lip colour before applying the lipstick. If you decide you want to do this then make sure you exfoliate your lips and make sure they are moisturised as the foundation will make your lips feel dry. Once you have added the lipstick then apply a lipgloss if you want your lips to feel more hydrated.

You basically want you lipstick to made your teeth appear white and your complexion brighter. Plus try avoid a matte lipstick go for a sheer or semi matte. Make sure your lips are hydtrated a favourite of mine is applying Carmex before applying the lipstick.

Fair Skin tones opt for peachy and pinky colours.

Medium  tones opt for caramel and warm biege colours.

Olive skin tones most nudes will suit but please avoid pale pink and frosty nude lipsticks.

Dark Skin tones opt for rich chocolate tones.

Complete your make up look by going for a smokey eye, or add a bit or dark eyeliner/mascara and finish off with a pop of blusher.

Hope you enjoyed the post.
