We are right in bridal season because of the amazing weather and beautiful locations that South Africa has to offer. I did a beautiful bridal shoot with Elbeth Gillis last year for her new collection showcasing her two different ranges. Bridal doesn’t have to be cheesy with horrible puff ball dresses and hair that came out of the 80’s. It can be cool and modern or just really classic but the hair really makes everything come together.I wanted to share the shoot that I did to give some bridal hair inspiration.
If you are waiting to do your bridal trial or are planning your wedding and haven’t gotten that far then check out some of the hairstyles from the shoot. If you have blonde hair then really most styles can look amazing as you can really see the detail with lighter hair. If you dress is really wow and extravagant you can actually keep the hair really simple with just a beautiful wave worn down. Plus maybe a beautiful piece to clip the hair to the one side. I love a bit of bling in the hair it just makes everything look so pretty.
If you are looking for an up do then this one is a beauty. Its still really modern with the front piece framing the face and a side bun. The bun can be super neat or have wispy bits to give a more rustic feel depending on your wedding location.
Or keep it super clean with a glossy side parting and bun that I actually wore when I got married to my husband. For me I love to dance and I mean I go all out. So hair up and away from my face so I don’t sweat too much works for me.
Here is another way to wear the side bun but this is not about neatness at all. Its free its more modern and looks cooler. The dress is clean and simple with structure which means the hair doesn’t have to be. Its all about the texture and freedom of the hair.
I do love a braid so with this look its definitely about the cool modern bride. Its super subtle with the braids on either side but it just makes it different to all the other bridal hairstyles. You can either finish it with a bun or ponytial like I did here for the shoot. Alternatively You can just go for a ponytail with some height and texture in the front.
I love this style as the dress is totally out there its different and really so beautiful. I kept the hair simple and tucked the ponytail in and kept the front textured.
Hope you have a little inspiration on how you want your hair for your wedding day. If you looking for a wedding dress please check out Elbeth Gillis they are amazing. Another thing to think about is the makeup. Keep it simple and let the focus be on the dress and hair. Make sure your skin is amazing so a beauty regime is key. Try a bold lip or a subtle smokey eye or liner.
