The gorgeous Essie winter collection is here and they are beautiful shades. I was lucky enough to get my hands on all but one of the shades to test out and there really is something here for everyone. What I am impressed with is the brushes seems to be wider so easier and quicker application. Plus they apply beautifully after two coats which makes my life easier as a makeup artist. I out Go with the Flowy the silver/grey shade to the test on the Marie Claire main fashion editorial last week and I was really impressed.
The new Chanel Coco Codes Makeup Collection is beyond beautiful. You all know I love anything Chanel and each season their makeup collections get prettier and prettier. With my new favourite item being the Coco Code Blush Harmony that has 4 shades in one for contouring, Its a super modern collection that has been created by Lucia Pica the Chanel’s Global Creative Marketing Director. This collection is small be so beautiful I was lucky enough to get some extra Chanel makeup items along with the Coco Codes Collection.
This year Chanel have reformulated their gorgeous Le Vernis nail laquer’s together with a gel top coat to make sure polish lasts that much longer. The new collection consists of 14 shades in SA with only 4 polishes shades from the origional collection returning pirate, rouge noir, ballerina and paticulier. The new shades are totally new to the Chanel collection with my fav’s being rouge essential (bold red),mythique (deep burgundy), marinere (a vibrant blue), monochrome (christalline grey). Hopefully new shades will be added throughout the year because so far I am loving what I am seeing. Even though the polishes are by no means cheap they are definitely great quality and now with the new formula the polishes last that much longer.
If you didn’t catch the AW16 shows and you are all about the nails then this post will be exactly what you need to be looking at. Being a makeup artist in SA means I have to be able to do nails well but also be on trend and know whats happening at the fashion weeks. Its been a while since I did a nail post but after resaerching and seeing all the amazing trends I felt I needed to share. Even though we are a season behind in SA we can still rock the trends and be ahead of our time. Here are some of the nail trends I personally love.
Its almost Christmas so if you are still needing to get gifts or need some stocking filler ideas then here is a little selection for under R160 for you to choose from:
Nude nails are always a trend and when we think nude we thing of shades that have a touch of brown to them especially tan, light pinks and caramel shades but sometimes is cool to use an alternate nude shade that isn’t too bold, really quite subtle but works beautifully. On a few shoots the client has asked for nude and instead of going for the expected nude I like to use light grey’s, mauve’s and purple/grey shades that look amazing on.
Seriously one of my fav shoots ever at Rockin The Daisies festival with Cosmo magazine with an amazing team and the coolest model plus getting to listen to some really cool music and yes I was dancing some of the time with the model. This editorial is all about what to wear at a festival while looking cool and standing out in the crowd. how to take something dressy and making it more casual by pairing it with trainers. But also misxing budget with high end pieces.
You can never have enough nude polishes in your stash whether you are a makeup artist or just love all things beauty the nude nail is a must. Its a trend that been around a while and its definitely one that isn’t going any where. A nude nail looks amazing day or night whether you are going to the office or out and about that is something cool but yet classic when it comes to a nude nail. It seems that a lot of brands are launching new collections at the moment and I am loving the Essie nude nail polishes right now.
Yes its the time of year again when we get a whole load of new nail polish shades for summer definitely my favourite time of year. Essie are always so spot on with colours and trends and I am loving the new summer 2015 collection (R125 per bottle). Its filled with pops of colour including my favourite blue shades and a shade for everyone.
There is nothing better than having a selection of nude lippies and polishes in your makeup stash, its great for that no makeup makeup vibe and great for everyday wear. A nude lip always looks amazing with a smokey eye or a graphic eye so as not to take away from the key feature of your makeup. Rimmel have launched the new Rimmel Kate nude collection Dare To Go bare, a selction of gorgeous nude lippies for most skin tones and some pretty nail polishes to go with.
