Now if you have been following me a while you will know I am a fan of Dove. Its a brand I have used for a long time for myself and my family. In conjunction with Rubybox I have been busy testing out the new scents from Purely Pampering Dove Body Wash range. If you haven’t tried anything from purely pampering you are missing out. I love the quality and I love how my skin feel after washing. I struggle with dry skin and its worse during winter so these couldn’t have come at a better time.

A new range to tackle dull looking skin the Filorga Oxygen Glow. Now I am a massive fan of Filorga so when the collection landed on my desk I was really excited to try. Its a brand new range with pink packaging that focuses giving radiance to the skin. Its a little bit more affordable than the Filorga products that we know already.

As you all know I am slightly obsessed with skincare for me its the way to go for a perfect complexion. When I got invited to the GR8 Skincare launch I was super excited especially because its chemical free. Its where science meets nature. Basically meaning they are a skincare company dedicated to creating cruelty-free products that combine scientific and natural ingredients in a safe, skin-healthy way. GR8 Skin is a locally made brand, with no nasty chemicals, got the good active ingredients like Vitamin A and C and is anti oxidant rich. I got my hands on a couple of the products from the range and so far I love the products.

Elizabeth Arden collaborate with the Sparrow Society once again an amazing initiative for women in South Africa. It was such a great success the last 2 years its back again for 2019. The initiative already started back in Jan and I got the latest goodie bag from Elizabeth Arden. So of course I am spreading the word and some girl power. The Elizabeth Arden bags are basically manufatcured by the Society which helps sustain local manufacturing. The initiative also helps revive lost jobs and helps empower seamstresses to start their own local businesses. So ladies get busy shopping at Elizabeth Arden so while you are looking pretty you are really helping others at the same time.

For every Elizabeth Arden purchase you get this handmade bag thats filled with seven samples. In order to get this goodie bag you need to buy 2 products of which one needs to be a moisturiser, serum or a foundation. The bag contains mostly skincare and a mini Standing Ovation mascara. So not only do you walk away with a makeup bag you get some great samples too.

So what’s in the bag?

Of course you get the cult beauty product loved by so many the Elizabeth Arden 8HR Cream Skin Protectant. Its got so many uses fro protecting your lips, glossing your cheek bones and eyes, protecting split ends its a pretty long list.

The mini Cermamide Lift and Firm Day cream SPF 30 is an anti ageing super moisturiser that lifts and plumps the skin. Yes please. Plus you get a few of the Ceramide Advanced Daily Youth Capsules these are a fav of mine. They are serum capsules that have triple anti ageing powerthat infuses skin with youth-restoring ceramides and potent botanicals for a visibly smoother, firmer and youthful appearance. I have tested these out and they are truly gorgeous.

The bag also contains two products from the Superstart range which I also love. The Probiotic Cleanser Whipped to Clay is actually the biggest sample in the bag so you are winning here. Its a whipped mousse mineral rich cleanser that minimises pores and removes makeup and impurities. Plus there is super a mini version of the Superstart Skin Renewal Booster which I also love. helps restore the healthy look of skin’s surface layer, fortifying its natural ability to repair and renew. Used before a serum or moisturizer, it boosts the results of your skincare products.

Last up one of my fav mascara’s the mini version of the Standing Ovation. Its soft formula nourishes the lashes and also gives great volume to lashes.

So when does the offer start on this goodie bag?

From 14th April – 5th May 2019 at selected Edgars stores

From 19th April – 6th May at elected Woolworths stores

Its a great initiative helping others and its a great way to test out some of Elizabeth Arden products.

Happy Shopping.

I do love a good foundation especially one that has great skincare benefits. Last month Environ were offereing the foundation for free if you spent over a certain amount of money so I got to test this one out. The Environ Even More Hydra+ Foundation sadly only comes in 4 shades but for those fairer girls its a goodie. The shade I am testing out here is no 4 which is the darkest. Its still too light for me during summer but you get see what it looks like on.  Its a really lovely foundation that totally evens out my skin giving me a glowing complexion.

Introducing Kudu Cosmetica a gorgeous organic brand from SA whose motto is “less is more”. Kudu’s products are clean, pure and free from any harmful chemicals. All their products are natural and kind to your skin with sensitive skin being in the forefront. I got to test out a couple of the gorgeous Kudu face oils and I ABSOLUTELY love them. First impressions a massive thumbs up from me.

Its really only from blogging that I have learnt so much about skincare and what we actually really need plus  what to look out for in products. Only last year did I actually really introduce Vitamin A into my routine with Environ which has made such an improvement in my skin. I actually had no idea how important it actually was. So let’s talk about why we need Vitamin A in our skincare routine.

In basic terms Vitamin A is the skin normaliser according to the creator of Gr8 Skincare that is launching in SA. If you don’t have Vitamin A that is the driving process in your skincare routine then there is no point using any other Vitamins on your skin. Basically without Vitamin A none of your other products will work. If your skin is oily or too dry Vitamin A will normalise it. The average person doesn’t actually know this plus with all those products out there it gets really confusing.

According to Environ’s creator Dr Des Fernandes “Ageing skin is due to sun induced Vitamin A deficiency. By correcting the skin with Vitamin A you will have more radiant skin.” Basically without Vitamin A in our routine there are more skin abnormalities, such as pigmentation, sun damage, ageing and even skin cancer. Sadly these are things that we are just not educated about. The best way to combat all these things is to make sure we have Vitamin A in our skincare routine so as to replenish the Vitamin A in our cells every day.

I started  using Vitamin A last October and already I have seen a massive improvement in my hydration, pores (which I didn’t even realise were that bad), wrinkles around my eyes and my overall complexion looks great. After just after 4 months of using the skin analysis showed even though I am 42 I have the skin of a 36 year old and that will just keep improving. With Environ you build up your Vitamin A starting with Sequence 1 and working your way up to 4. I am now on 2 plus I go for facials twice a month where I get even more Vitamin A into my cells. I apply the Vitamin A currently both day and night but the dosage still isn’t that high.

With brands like GR8 Skincare hers works differently with just the night Reset serum, that includes all you need a night which is Vitamin A and C, probiotics and antioxidants. By having the Vitamin A at night the skin can reset and normalise and help it to become problem free.

Some brands suggest to use Vitamin A just at night but I suppose that all depends on the dosage as well especially when you are applying Retinol thats just a night time routine due to its potency.

Benefits of Vitamin A:

  • Hydrated due to the skin’s natural moiturising factor leaves skin glowing.
  • Strengthens the skin outer layer.
  • Stimulates the skin’s natural protein to keep skin looking healthy.
  • Supports the immune system and prevents breakouts (initially the skin adjusts so you may have some breakouts. I literlly had mount everest on my chin in the beginning but then it all settled.)
  • Reduces the risk of skin cancer.

Next week I will chat more about Retinol because otherwise I will be here all day. If you haven’t got Vitamin A in your routine then get on it.

This South African natrural skinvare brand is definitely one of my favourites. If you haven’t seen previous posts abourt me chatting about Eco Diva then you need to get your hands on one of their products. One of my all time favs is the double diva glow kit which consists of the face serum and cream. This time I am introducing the Eco Diva Shimmer Body Butter (R385) that gives your body a natural shimmer. Love Love Love.

For those of you who know the brand Elizabeth Arden have had the 8HR Cream around for a long time. The 8HR cream is a cult product and has a variety of uses including hair and cuticles. The Elizabeth Arden HR Cream Collection has increased over time with now a massive range. I was lucky enough thanks to the lovely Lauren at Elizabeth Arden I got quite a few bits from the range. The range itself is all about hydrating skincare that protects your skin and thats exactly what I love for myself.

Ooh I do love a face mist its a big part of my daily routine for myself and when I am on a shoot for the models I work with. Introducing the seriously hydrating Estherderm Eau Cellulaire Spray Cellular Revitalising (R306.95) . The lastest French brand has arrived in SA and its skincare is amazing and I have fallen in love with this face mist. I use it every day before I apply my makeup on and my skin glows plus my complexion is hydrated to the max.
