Its a new season and that means new makeup and times to change things up. Being a 90’s girl myself I love that the 90’s makeup trend is back and its so easy. The key to the look is the lip and the eyes. I kept my take on the look really simple with the focus on the lips using the Mac Paramount Satin Lipstick. I kept eyes simple with a wash of colour and tanned up my skin and added the glow I love.

In my latest beauty editorial with Marie Claire SA we covered some of the latest lipstick trends, shades and textures plus some lip techniques thrown in. Lipstick is one of those items that you should always have in your makeup stash. Bold colours and textures can take your makeup look from so so to absolutely stunning. Plus a bold colour can totally wake up your complexion even when you are feeling tired. If you feeling super bold then be playful and wear two shades at once but this look may only be for the daring. If you are totally focusing on lips then keep the rest of your face clean with lots of mascara and bold beautiful brows.

Its been a while since I chatted about makeup trends but with the latest Couture Beauty AW trends being so beautiful I just had to share. Of course the makeup legends that run the shows always come with somethings so beautiful it inspires the rest of us too. What I love about makeup is that you can keep it simple or push the limits and go a bit crazy. Of course Pat Macgrath has blown me away with the red lip that just looks amazing on I want to try it too.

Yesterday I joined the Mac pro tewam to do makeup at the Mercedes Benz Fashion week. As a Mac Top Tier member we got invited to join the team and make some magic happen. It was my first time at a show so I was pretty nervous but being surrounded by such amazing makeup artists I handled it really well. I got to play with new Mac products like the Extra Dimension highlighter in show gold and the Diane Kendal black kajal liner. In love with both. I also learnt how its really done backstage for the amazing skin and lots of new tricks which was really fun.

Most of the time I focus on the makeup trends from the shows but I loved the hair so much from LFW that I wanted to share. This post focuses purely on my fav hairstyles for LFW AW17 and as you can see they are pretty cool. We definitely need to be thinking about adding ribbons or embellishments to our hair if we want to get with the trends. Its all about different textures and styles that are easy to recreate at home.

The glitter and braid trend for SS17 is a key trend especially at Milan and Paris fashion week. Two favourite trends of mine and so pretty its definitely trends we can embrace at home. Glitter is a massive trend this SS16 and it seems to be happening again. Braids have definitely made a comeback with quite a few shows working braids but also in new and cool ways.

I was asked by Fashion and Beauty editor for Women 24 asked me how to create the mermaid eye trend that seems to be a big beauty trend for SS16/17. The mermaid eye seems to be a makeup look that is taking over fashion week and the red carpet especially in shades of blue. Blue eyeshadow in all shades is a massive trend right now so even if this look isn’t for you get hold of a blue eyeshadow that’s for you and go for it.

The makeup at the NYFW SS17 show’s is very simple this year with a few key trends standing out and the most popular trend seems to be eyeliner. The eyeliner makeup trend at NYFW SS17 is nothing graphic just simple looks that we could all re-create at home. Its got a feeling of a bit of undone grunge that was popular in the 90’s and makeup is kept super fresh and lips totally nude. All you need is some lip balm or Elizabeth Arden 8HR cream and you are good to go.

Sadly I missed the Mac SS16 presentation but luckily I got my hands on a few key items and the coveted trend book that all us makeup artists want to get our hands on. There are always 4 key trends that Mac present as well as they products for each trend. SS16 has a variety of makeup trends from the bold colours, lashes, orange/red lips, a whole load of glitter and of course the no makeup makeup trend that always seems to be in.
