Spring is almost upon us in SA and its time to start looking at the trends for the upcoming season and take note. If you are looking for easy ways to work the trends with your hair and change your look up a little then here is some inspiration taken from the SS16 shows. Top knots, textured hair and plaits are definitely in plus some embellishments thrown in. So here is a low down of my favourite hair trends for SS16:
This coming season is all about primary bold colours to take your makeup to the next level. in this shoot I did for Elle magazine SA beauty editorial it was all about ways to wear colours to make a dramatic statement and be bang on trend.
Its finally here the first store of Urban Decay in South Africa. Sadly I couldn’t make the press trip as I am overseas but I wanted to share with my readers the new gorgeous store in Joburg in Sandton City. My fellow bloggers luckily got to get a sneaky look before the store opened on 9th July and I can’t wait to get myself there when I am next in the city. What I am so happy about is every product available overseas (apart from the Gwen Stephani palette)is in this store unlike some of the other brands if you want something you can get your hands on it.
I always love to share beauty trends on my post as I am always busy researching to see what’s in, what can I work into a shoot or just get inspired by makeup artists like Pat Macgrath. I picked out a few looks that really stood out for me and that look really incredible on. Glitter and metallic is definitely in and if you didn’t catch my post about howe ro rock the glitter trend then you can catch it here. I absolutely love metallic liners and in my previous post I use the Mac liner to show you how to make the look wearable. In the image above the same liner has been used but a more bold graphic eye has been created that looks amazing on.
Last week I got to attend the Maybelline launch showcasing 4 key trend looks with new Maybelline makeup launches coming our way in SA. Makeup artist and Maybelline ambassador Linda O’Connell talked us through the trends and what products to use to achieve it. I luckily got to snap the model’s up close to show my readers how amazing the makeup looks and. Maybelline are all about the IT looks so here they are and here is what is coming our way:
Previous trends from back in the day whether its fashion or makeup always seem to come back in trend and this time is the nineties that’s making a come back and of course its a fav of mine. In this shoot I did for Edgars in SA my brief was modern nineties makeup, so taking elements from back then and making it current and cool. Luckily I had a great model to work with to show you the trends that you need to be working this season.
If you didn’t catch the makeup from this years Met Ball Gala then here is one trend that stands out from the rest the colour smokey eye. Now we always see a pretty red lip or a bronze eye but this year colours like green, blue and silvers seem to be really popular with the celebrities.
A big hair trend this year is hair embellishments and for me shoot for MRP today I got sent a whole load of hair references that got me to thinking about a hair post to share with my readers and how easy it is to jazz up your hair in a few simple steps. Obviously some are a little of the top but this year its all about pretty clips that have been strategically placed and gorgeous hair bands that really make everything pop.
We all know Pat McGrath is the legend of legend makeup artists so when I got offered the chance to watch a live video stream of Pat talking trends I was in. As Global Director of Max Factor Pat Macgrath talks in depth on each look she created for each show and focused on a look and products from Max Factor she uses. The fashion shows each season set trends for makeup artists around the world and for the every day woman who loves makeup. I shared some of my fav looks from the AW16 shows but Pat Macgrath talks about the key trends across the board and what we need to be embracing.
I am totally in love with the makeup from Paris Fashion Week AW16 its all about smokey eyes, gorgeous skin and bold lips. The women are totally glamourous which reflects the amazing fashion of the city. Glossy lips are definitely a big trend here with lots of nude lips floating around with some of the bold eyes or all out bold and smokey together.
