Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder Foundation
Introducing the new amazing Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder Foundation. I was lucky enough to see a demonstration a while back with one of Chanel’s brand ambassador’s on the new collection including this foundation. Being a liquid foundation kind of girl once I saw it on I was converted.
Chanel have created this beautiful powder foundation which is all about the enhanced complexion with a natural glow and the added bonus is that it comes with a mini Kabuki brush which feels so amazing on the skin and evenly applies the powder onto the face without it looking dry and giving a natural finish. On initial contact to the skin the powder is a powder but the amazing thing about it that it offers a finish of a fluid foundation once it meets the skin making skin look like skin and not heavy looking at all. Plus it feels like you are literally wearing nothing. The powder is enriched with a softening Canola Oil derivitive it offers protection all day long.
The second secret to the formula is a combination of soft focus powders which fills the surface irregularities and instantly smoothes out the skin. Chanel promise the skin to be evened out by 55% for a 100% natural effect. The foundation was created with innovative pigments such as Mica Powder optimises the light reflection of the highlighting pigments to offer a glowing finish. The high definition light pigments were added in to give a warmer effect to the light. Sounds amazing right?
So I gave it a whirl myself to see how it applied on my skin and how it felt and looked even though I had seen it in action previously. This is a pic of me below with only a touch of concealer under my eyes and just the 50 shade powder applied all over, my skin looks evened out but totally natural like I am not wearing anything. I probably need to apply a little more to get more coverage but I like my skin to look natural.
To use the brush turn the foundation upside down to get product out, open the lid take the brush and swirl it around to get the foundation on to the brush and then lightly sweep starting from the centre of the face working your way out.
Here is a pic I took of the model they used at the launch who has the Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder Foundation on and it really looks like she is wearing liquid foundation.
There will be 5 shades from 10 to 50 similar to the Healthy Glow Powders with an SPF of 15 to help protect against the sun. The Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder Foundation will launch on the 8th Setember in SA and will be retailing at R1010 and yes its expensive so most people won’t be able to afford this unless money isn’t an option or you have been saving up for a nice foundation. Its a great one for someone who isn’t a fan of liquid foundation and doesn’t mind spending a bit of extra time on makeup application but it really its a beautiful one.
