Shahnaz Loves Beauty

To say I am beyond excited to have been part of this Elle beauty shoot would be an understatement. The editorial is all about braided hair and absoloutely flawless skin, I got to do the makeup for the shoot with Olga and April and the pictures have come out so beautifully. My brief was to create flawless beautiful skin and as you all know that is one of my favourite things to do.

Olga’s skin I used the Dermalogica skincare to prep her skin using the Dermalogica Ultra Calming Cleanser, the Antioxidant Hydramist, Active Moist moisturiser and the Total Eye Care to make sure her skin was really hydrated and ready for makeup.

For the look above and below I shimmered the eyes by using the Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Plalette in no 11 Forest. There is the most gorgeous pearly shimmer shade that makes those eyes pop.

For the look below I glossed the eyes but this was just for the first look. Lashes were kept modern by just applying one coat of mascara and brows were filled with one of the Mac brow pencils.

For highlighting I used a mixture of Mac strobe cream under the skin and Mac Lightscapade over the top of the cheek bones, on the bridge of the nose and on the cupids bow.

elf1214pg129 copyFor April’s look the only difference in the skincare was I used the Dermalogica Smoothing Cream as the moisturiser. For April’s foundation of course I used my Bobbi Brown Foundation stick to get that flawless finish. The first look below I glossed the eyes with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and highlighted her skin with the limited edition Estee Lauder Topaz which is a gorgeous bronze.

elf1214pg124 copyFor contouring I just used a darker shade of the Bobbi Brown foundation stick this is a beautiful way to add definition without it being too harsh on the skin.

elf1214pg127 copyFor April’s eyes I used the darker neutral shades from the Mac Warm Neutrals Palette as the focus was on the hair and for the lips I used the Mac Modern Browns lip palette.
