A Make Up Look For Darker Skin In My Marie Claire Shoot

In this month’s issue of Marie Claire I did the make up for the beautiful Eden from Fusion models. This look is for darker skin girls and I will explain step by step what I did to create the look. Luckily Eden had a pretty even skin tone and perfect skin so applying the foundation was quick and easy. I started off with a neutral lip and a bronze eye and then applied a dark berry lip which is a big AW13 trend and then made the eyes darker by really contouring the crease with a chocolate eyeshadow.

Skin: I prepped Eden’s skin with Mac Prep and Prime Base Lumiere to give a glow to the skin and then I buffed in the Bobbi Brown stick foundation. Darker skin girls tend to have oily skin so opt for a light moisturiser or a hydrating primer.

Eyes: I applied the foundation over the eyes first and then on the lid I used a bronze shade up to the crease with the Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Topaz this product was limited edition but go for a deep bronze for the eye to create this look. For the crease to create the definition I used a chocolate eyeshadow from the Stila palette In The Light. For very dark skin try Bobbi brown eyeshadow in Espresso to get the defition and blend in with a blending brush. I filled in brows using benefit Browzing in Dark and for Eden’s lashes I applied Charlotte Tilbury Fat Lashes Mascara.

Highlighting and Contouring: I used the the cheek bones a mixture of the Estee Lauder Topaz and YSL Dare to Glow to create a beautiful shimmer to the skin I also applied down the bridge of the nose and on the cupids bow. For the contour I used a chocolate shadow but you can also use a darker foundation and blend in under the cheek bones.

Cheeks: I applied Mac blushin Raizin on the apples of the cheeks and sweeping upwards.

Hope you enjoyed my post. x
