I shot this story about 3 weeks ago on the beautiful Clifton beach on a crazy hot day but I love how it came out. Aloud is the perfect girl with her beautiful skin, the bright pops of colour and the blue blue sky in the back.
So the brief was beautiful glowing skin and the rest fell into place. Because the clothes were bright and had lots of prints I kept the eyes the same throughout and changed the lips up for each outfit. I love doing make up for dark skin models as the colours just pop. So here is how I created the look and what I used:
For the skin I prepped first with the Smashbox Hydrating Primer , this primer is a perfect canvas for foundation and hydrates but doesn’t leave the skin feeling oily. For foundation I used the Mac Matchmaster Foundation in no 10 and blended in but Aloud has such beautiful skin not much was needed and to conceal under the eyes I used one of my Bobbi Brown stick foundations.
On the eyes I prepped her skin first applying the foundation first and then on the lids to really make the eyes pop I applied my Estee Lauder Pure Colour in Topaz this was limited edition but try Mac Mineralise Gold Deposit on the lids. For the brows I used Benefit Browzing in Dark which has a combination of powder and cream and for the mascara I used Maybelline The Falsies.
For the highlighting I used the Estee Lauder Topaz again on the top of the cheek bones, bridge of the nose and the cupids bow and for contouring I used my Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Espresso just to create definition under the cheek bones. On the cheeks I needed a pop of colour so I used the Mac Blush in Fever.
The lips I changed each time pretty much sticking to my Mac lipstick shades as I have a bit of an obsession with Mac lipsticks and their platettes. We went from berry, deep red, purple, chocolate, deep pink and a pop of gold.
Have fun trying to recreate the look.
