Its all about the ways to glow and that products too use to achieve that glow. Thank you to Shop Betty for my Elf Cosmetics highlighters. The brand is super affordable and I have been really impressed by the quality as well. If you haven’t tried the brand its from the US plus its cruelty free which will make a lot of people happy. Its actually a brand that has good quality makeup. I have tried their mini eyeshadows as well and loved them.
The Elf Jelly Highlighter in Bubbly has a consistency that I have never experienced before but am obsessed with it. Its like a liquid jelly that has such a powerful glow to the skin. You can apply with fingers or with a brush and a little really goes a long way. The versatile jelly formula makes it the perfect multi-use highlighter — it can be worn alone, over makeup, or mixed into foundation. It applies wet, and dries to a long-wearing glowy finish.
Sadly Shop Betty has sold out of the jelly highlighter but it’s still available in SA on Muse Beauty retailing at R250.
The Elf Liquid Highlighter (R105) has a more balm effect that gives a gloss to the skin. The highlighter has illuminating pigments that add light to the face for a glowing, dewy looking complexion. These liquid illuminator drops can be used for strobing and highlighting to create a glowing look. Its also enriched with Vitamin E so its super hydrating as well.
You can see the difference between the two highlighters and it really depends what glow you are looking for. If you like glossy balmy skin then the liquid and if you like full glow then the jelly. I love them both and you can even use at the same time for different effects on the skin. Add the liquid into your foundation for an overall glow and the jelly on the key points off your face.
I used the Jelly highlighter for this glow look. You can see it has an amazing colour pay off and the glow is gorgeous. I applied with a smaller brush to really blend in as it dries pretty quickly.
New to SA are the Elf Cosmetics Bite Size Face Duo (R140) are on the go glow palettes blend with a combo of blush, bronze and highlighter palettes. I got my hands on the blush and highlighter mini palette in Lychee. I actually use the pigmented highlighter on my eye lids to add that glow to my eyes.
Absolutely loving Elf and definitely want to try more products. The Jelly Pop Dew Primer and Ride or Die Lip Balms are on my list next to try out. Go check out Betty for some great makeup or skincare buys.
