Last week I somehow forgot to pack my hair tong for a shoot luckily I had enough time to get myself to the nearest Clicks to buy one and still get to my shoot. Staring at me from all the hair tongs was the new Vidal Sasson easy wrap tong that looked like it would do the trick. I am always on the look out for a tong that will give ntaural looking hair and creates a subtle wave. Its unlike any other tong that I have seen as it has a daiamond cermaic wand which makes it so easy to use. There is a on/off switch button so its on it gets hot and you are good to go.
A big hair trend this year is hair embellishments and for me shoot for MRP today I got sent a whole load of hair references that got me to thinking about a hair post to share with my readers and how easy it is to jazz up your hair in a few simple steps. Obviously some are a little of the top but this year its all about pretty clips that have been strategically placed and gorgeous hair bands that really make everything pop.
How To: The Prada PonytailIf you caught my post this morning on the Elle beauty Mane Stage editorial then this is how to create one of the hair looks created by my amazing colleague Alet Vilijeon. I did the makeup for the models and in this final look lips were an orange/red to compliment the Prada ponytail.
Its that time for me to think about what I am going to have my hair look like when I renewal in March. I am pretty much going for another wedding vibe with a new dress because why not plus I am turning 40 so needed something to really look forward to. The renewal will be in Franshoek and its a garden vibe so am trying to decide how my hair should look. I have started looking on Pinterest and some of my fav magazine sites to get inspired and find a winner.
In my ad shoot last week for a local retail brand that is realunching their whole brand early next year sorry can't share yet with you but wanted to share one of the look's from the shoot a perfect summer 70's inspired makeup and hair look that is gorgeous day or night. There are so many take's on the 70's makeup but this one is one of my fav's.
Not only is it key to change up your makeup for this spring/summer there are also some really cool hair trends to try out too. Yesterday on my beauty shoot for Elle there were literally 18 hair changes covering all trends and it got me to thinking to share some of the trends that I am totally loving for this season. Some are easy to create yourself all you need is some product and a tong and some you may need to get yourself a hairstylist to work the look for you especially as we almost in the festive party season.
I was asked a month ago to take part in a trial to test out the Pantene Sleek and Smooth range and give back honest feedback on what I thought. I am always on the look out for good shampoo and conditioners because I constantly blow dry my locks and need all the love I can get.
An amazing week of shoots and new products and barely a moment to breath. So here is my highlights of the week all packed into one post for you.
