What I love about Chanel is that they are always bringing our new makeup for every season as well as a few other surprises. Launching next week in SA comes the new Chanel Eyes collection for 2016 and I am loving it. I didn’t get my hands on the whole collection but I did get the eye brow definition kit, multi dimensional mascara and the cream eyeshadow pen to play around with from the lovely Sarah at Prestige Cosmetics.
The collection is all about defining the eyes with all the different elements whether they be brows or your lashes or creating a gorgoues day time smokey eye to make your eyes pop. Kirsten Stewart is the face of the collection shot by the amazing Mario Testino for the campaign Chanel shows us all the ways to work this fabulous collection. From the tom boy look to the star look there are 4 ways that chanel show us on how to work the eye collection.
There are 3 Dimensions de Chanel waterproof mascara’s (R435) in the collection I got my hands on no 10 in black that has an applicator that gets right into the lashes coating them and giving you volume at the same time totally opening up the eyes meaning you can just go out with just mascara and nothing else on the eyes. As well as the black their is a brun (warm chocolate brown) shade and a fav of mine a colbalt masacra to make those eyes really pop. I am totally in love with the latest mascara even though the previous collection it was pretty amazing this new one literally gives me the best lashes ever without a lash curl in sight.
The eyebrow definition kit known as La Palette Sourcils De Chanel (R915) come in two shades natural and brun I got my hands on the darker shade that has a lighter and a darker powder plus a mini tweezer, brush and brow brush to get those perfect brows. Its definitely on the pricey side of the collection but if you love all things Chanel then this may be the treat for you. I am not a massive fan of the brow brush in this kit but the brow brush and tweezer work a treat. I used my own brush so that I could create the brow I really wanted.
Love the Chanel fresh effect eyeshadow in this shimmer brown brun chatain its perfect for that day time look to enhance the eyes. Great on its own or worked in with an eyeshadow palette, there asre some new shades that have been added to the range so get yourself to a Chanel counter to go check them out.
In this pic I applied the lighter shade from the brow kit to just fill in where needed. I am not a massive fan of filling my own brows but I actually found this powder to look really natural. The mascara you can see has totally opened up my eyes and given my lashes a lot of definition and I used the eyeshadow pen to enhance the top of the lid and subtly along the bottom lash line.
Check out these video’s from Chanel showcasing the ways to work the makeup which also includes eyeliners and eyeshadow palettes. In this video’s its more about the liners and the mascara as well as the brow kit. Kirsten Stewart looks pretty amazing.
The great thing about the Chanel eyes collection is you can keep it simple by just working the fab new mascara and filling in brows and then work it to a full day to night look. Love Love Love.
