A brand I am a massive fan of and love to recommend to my followers time and time again. Plus with the launch of the Avene A-Oxitive range I am even more excited as it focuses on anti ageing and doesn’t break the bank. Infused with antioxidants, hyaluronic Acid and their Thermal Spring Water. Targeting oxidative stress, pollution and the early signs of ageing its hands down a definite winner.
Life especially these days is super stressful. Living in cities where pollution is high its so important to protect our skin in any way we can. Not enough sleep, stress, bad diet and all the other external stressors really effect our skin. So many people are dealing with the eaarly signs of ageing much quicker than before. A good skincare routine is vital that includes antioxidants and Vitamin A which I constantly harp on about. This ingredient is absolutely necessary in your beauty routine.
Both the Night Peeling Cream and Eye Cream contain Retinaldehyde (a Vitamin A derivative and a direct precursor of Retinoic Acid) which gets converted into retinoic acid according to the skin’s needs. The Pro Vitamin A is an anti-ageing active ingredient with clinical anti-wrinkle efficacy proven to boost cellular activity in the skin, as well as smooth wrinkles and improves radiance.
Hydration is key in the fight against ageing and you need to make sure you have Hyaluronic Acid in your skincare products. As we get older the hydration in our skin depletes so we need to boost our skin though our skincare routine.
The Avene A-Oxitive Range:
The A-Oxitive range consists of 4 products for your day and night time routine which I have added into my beauty routine. Its a range targeted for those waning to combat the early signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles and have beautiful radiant skin.
Antioxidant Defense Serum (R400) actually can be used for day and night but I use it in the day as I have other products I use. The serum helps the skin to defend itself from the effects of oxidative stress. Its super lightweight and really adds a glow to the skin. The key ingredients include an Antioxidant Shield Complex of Pro-Vitamins C & E, as well as GP4G a cell energizer that reinforces and stimulates the skin’s natural defenses. For long lasting hydration the serum is packed with Hyaluronic Acid. Lastly its infused with the amazing Thermal Spring Water known for its soothing properties. The antioxidant defense serum really energises the skin I really love it.
The Day Water Soothing Cream (R400) provides an anti-pollution barrier effect used after the serum. The cream has a fresh gel like texture that melts into the skin leaving it feeling so soft. I love that its not heavy and my skin feels really hydrated afetr application. In terms of the ingredients its similar to that of the serum but it also has pearlescent agents that create a glow effect. The result glowing radiant happy skin making makeup application so easy.
Smoothing Eye Contour Cream (R370) smooths and boosts radiance, leaving the eye contour visibly fresher and brighter upon waking. The ingredients such as Retinaldehyde (pro-vitamin A) and Pro-Vitamin E boost cellular activity, refines the skin’s texture and combaats the effects of free radicals. The fatty acids help protect the hydrolipidic film (the protective film that covers the surface of our skin). Resulting in a smoother hydrated under eye area which is so key to combating those fine lines. The Thermal Spring Water helps keep that area soothed especially if you have sensitive skin.
Night Peeling Cream is a goodie as it gently peels the skin through the night due the Retinaldehyde the Vitamin A derivative. The Evening Primrose Oil rich in fatty acid and vitamins, nourishes the skin and helps restore its natural balance. The Pro Vitamin E and Thermal Spring Water helps protect the skin. If you use Retinol already then do not use at the same time. I am currently using a low form of Retinol 3 nights a week from another brand. The nights I am not using I then apply the Peel Cream. Once I work my way up to a higher Retinol I won’t use the Peel Cream anymore. Also both products should NOT be used when pregnant or breast feeding.
I love that range is super affordable and have recommended this range to women over 40. Skincare is an investment but this really is a great start. The Avene brand is one that I always tell people to use especially if you have sensitive skin. The Thermal Spring Water is a key part of my beauty routine. I mist my face every morning after training and my shower. If you are in need of an anti age range this is definitely one you should check out.
