When it comes to choosing a base I love one that gives a glowing complexion, doesn’t look heavy and skin still looks like skin. If that’s your preference too then you definitely need to check out the Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation. Its been on the market for a while I just hadn’t had a chance to test it out until now. I have been using Mac Face and Body on my models but after using this I am def going to add some into my pro kit I love it that much.
There are 12 shades in the available in SA from fair to medium/dark. Where as overseas you can get 22 lets hope we get more available. Sadly at the moment there are no shades for the dark skin tones. The shade honey I have is a little light for me I am prob more on ther Amber side due to my tan. Even though its a little too light there are ways to warm up your foundation so you wouldn’t even know.
The Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation (R515) is all about “Be you.Be Nude.” Its a serum foundation that has the fluidity of a serum and the right amount of pigment to create a natural barely there finish. Plus they have added no greasy oils to the foundation. You actually don’t need that much to enhance your complexion. I would say 5/6 drops and this is enough. The foundation is super light, non greasy, gives an instant fresh effect with a natural radiant complexion.
With ingredients Jania that promotes a clear complexion. As well as the Leaf of life the reboots the skin’s mechanisms that promote hydration on multiple levels of the skin.
The foundation comes with a pipette so no wasteage. I know a lot of bloggers like to dribble the foundation straight on to their faces but I am a back of the hand kind of girl. You can either apply with a foundation brush like I do in this post. Or fingers to give a more sheer coverage. I always like to start in the middle of the face and blend outwards. The foundation won’t cover your imperfections it will definitely reduces them. Concealer will be your best friend in this situation.
When I shot this post I was looking on the very tired side but you can see how lovely the foundation looks (even if I don’t). It evens out my skin but still leaves skin looking natural. For those who like the no makeup makeup this one can be perfect for you. It applies like a dream, blends so easily and leaves skin so luminous. It sits beautifully on my skin and actually lasts really well. You do have to give it a freshen up later in the day but it lasts pretty well.
So if you find your foundation is a touch too light take a bronzer and warm up the face with a larger face brush. Apply on your forehead, cheek bones, along your jaw line and down to your neck. The larger brush will help warm up the face to look like its been sunkissed.
The overall look of the foundation is truly gorgeous I absolutely love it. Available at selected Woolworths, Foschini and Edgars stores.
