In my recent Grazia beauty shoot I covered some makeup trends to match the hair trends for the story on a gorgeous dark skin model. So if you are unsure of what colours or foundations to use here are some tips.
There are loads of foundations on the market for darker skin complexion my favourite by far is the Bobbi Brown foundation stick which I used for the shoot it evens out the complexion and leaves skin looking smooth and glowing. Other firm favourites are Smashbox liquid halo, Mac matchmaster especially for the really dark complexions and Elizabeth Arden flawless finish perfectly nude.
When contouring I go for a dark chocolate shade on the darker girls like Espresso from Bobbi Brown or go for a cream foundation 2 shades darker than your complexion. For the darkest skin tone like some of the Sudanese models I work with I take a black pencil along the cheek bone and then blend.
For highlighting for for bronze shades that really warm up the complexion and really make the skin glow some of my favourites are Mac cream colour base in Bronze and Black Up Poudre Sublime in no 3.
Colour really looks amazing on a darker complexion so if you want to add pops of colour focus on either lips, eyes or cheeks. A bold lip can really work here I used a fuschia pink its not too bright and really freshens up the complexion, deep reds and oranges can also really work as well.
I love a pop of colour on the eyes work the trends by creating grapic lines with either emerald green or colbalt blue along the lash line. For cheeks take plums, reds or deep pinks to add a flush to the cheek. Keep lips nude go for shades of browns when you working colour.
