Being a makeup artist myself I am always trying to improve, see what the trends are and just basically fawn over the rock star makeup artists out there. The talent that is out there is absolutely amazing and sometimes I am just blown away by the images I see. I have been doing loads of research since back from my holiday and trying to get inspired for beauty shoots I am planning as well and makeup tutorials I want to do. The makeup artists I follow are a mixture of flawless perfection and a bit out there crazy avant guard makeup. So here is my list of makeup artists you need to know about if you don’t already.
Alex Box: Known for her experimental looks this makeup artists truly inspires me to want to be more creative and think of the box. Creative Director for the amazing makeup brand Illamsaqua and amazing brand for all the makeup artists and makeup addicts out there. Her work is by far some of the most amazing art I have ever seen. The images alone make you want to be a makeup artist and to be able to be that creative. As well as doing makeup for celebrities like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, she has also worked as lead makeup artist for designers like Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood.
Robin Black: Makeup artist, blogger and photographer this artist brings us amazing makeup that can be translated to every day but is totally flawless. If you haven’t followed her blog beauty is boring then get yourself on there to see all her amazing looks she has created and try it at home. Definitely inspires me for makeup tutorials on my blog so watch this space.
Val Garland: A rock star in her own right Val garland has been around a long time and just keeps reinventing herself, starting trends and basically creating magic. I was lucky enough to take part in her online makeup course and seen her in action creating a look using different elements with no real thought about what she was going to do. Whether is amazing skin to all out there avant guard makeup Val can do it. Lead artist for countless shows and creating the deckle trend she continues to inspire me as a makeup artist to just want to be better. Love Love Love
Lottie Stannard: An amazing makeup artist that I have been following for some time on instagram. I love her beauty work and her creativity to think outside the box as well as just creating a gorgeous face. Known as the makeup magician she can literally create any look from avant guard to the most dewy skin you have ever seen. Her client list is endless and her work is simply breathtaking I would love to be able to get a chance to work with an artist like this.
