Face masks are a must when it comes to your beauty regime. Its something you really need to consider if you aren’t doing this already and it needs to happen 2/3 times a week. Of course there are a whole load on the market for all different skin concens and at different price points. The right face mask can help with pores, hydration, deep cleanisng and basically ensure that your other beauty products work efficiently as products are absorbed quicker and deeper. When it comes to my skin I am mostly looking for a mask to hydrate, give that extra glow to my skin and anything that helps with anti-ageing. So these are some of my favourite hydrating and anti-ageing face masks that do just that:
First up the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask (R250) that newly launched in SA and available at Dischem. Its perfect if you have dehydrated skin or suffer from dry skin and the creamy texture ensures your skin feels amazing afterwards. Of course all of the Avene products have the natural spring water which not only helps hydrate but also soothes irritated sensitive skin. Apply a thick layer all over your face and leave for 10-15 minutes to get the best results and either wash off with hands or a cloth. The result gorgeous soft smooth glowing skin.
Another new one on the market the Filorga Time Filler Mask (R175 per sheet mask) perfect for ageing skin. I actually really like sheet masks and found they have always really worked for me and this one is a goodie. Its a treatment mask that plumps wrinkles and regenerates ageing skin. Sadly my fine lines are becoming more visible around my eyes now that I am 41 so treatments like these are a must. The black fibre technology adheres to the curves of the face to boost absorption of the active ingredients to help regenerate the skin. The mask has a double smoothing effect tightening and filling. Infused with natural collagen with a serum concentrate that is soaked into the skin via the black oak fibre of the mask.
Apply the mask smoothing over your face for 15 minutes when you remove you will find there is excess product left behind. Take a cloth and remove the excess product and massage into your face what ever is left over. The result gorgeous glowing skin ultra smooth akin. Definitely a goodie for a pick me up when your skin is feeling a bit sad or you have to look your best for a hot date. Available at selected Edgars, Red Square and Click stores.
Last up by all means not a newbie but definitely a favourite of mine for a quick hydration boost the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque (R710). Its super light on application leaving my skin feeling so soft and smooth afterwards. When it comes to makeup application I can go with such a light base as my skin really glows afterwards that it looks great already. The masque helps refresh and moisturise dry stressed skin by stimuating the skin’s natural moisturising factor. While the tomato seed lipids restore the skin’s protective barrier enhancing moisture levels for healthier smoother skin. This has definitely been my go too mask for quite some time especially when I am tired and stressed out. Apply all over and leave for 10 minutes and wash off for the best results.
Have you tried any of these?
