The last week I have literally been trying to sort out my pro kit and getting ruthless. I realised that I needed some Mac beauty basics to add to my kit. Nude lipsticks, lip pencils and paint pots have been my latest purchases. Mac always have such a great selection when it comes to lippies. Even though I have so many I have lost count as a makeup artist you always need every nude shade. Its definitely all about the basics with this purchase with 4 new nude lipsticks, a nude lip liner, two nude pro longwear paint pots and a gel liner that are definite essentials.
As a makeup artist I literally can’t have enough nude lipsticks its just one of those things that is a must. Yes I sound a bit like a makeup addict (yes I am). However there are so many shades of nudes that I literally need for every skintone. Loving all 4 lipsticks that I purchased starting with Japenese Maple. Its a cream sheen lippie that is a super sheer peach lipstick perfect for the fairer skintones. Next up Peachstock which is a satin texture and its a peach/brown lippie that would look amazing with a grey smokey eye or that no makeup vibe. Honeylove in matte is a more of a pink nude great for my skintone as I am rocking a tan. I would pair with a chocolate smokey eye or berry smokey eye. Last up Velvet Teddy in matte is the darkest of all the nudes with definite pink undertones. This looks gorgeous on its own with a nude liner to define the lips or with a gloss over it. My latest nude pro longwear liner Etcetera goes perfectly with honeylove and peach stock that will create a gorgeous definition for the lips.
Loving my new Mac Pro Longwear paint pots Painterly and Soft Ochre prefect as a base for the eyes to build your look. They are kind of like eye primers as these bad boys don’t budge and are a perfect canvas. Soft Ochre is the lightest of the two so would definitely use on the fairer skin tones. I actually saw this one on a video tutorial and it works a treat as a base to build up a bold eye. Its one of those products that will make the colour really pop rather than using a normal primer. Painterly has been around as long as I can remember and can be either used on its own or as a base. Painterly is a nude beige shadow with a matt finish that works perfectly for that no makeup look for fairer skintones to even out the lids. Or its pefect for a base if you are creating the cat eye look and then layering eyeshadows on to the lids and the crease.
Last up I a repurchase the Pro Longwear Fluidline Blacktrack is just my favourite gel liner. I have used quite a few liners from a gel texture to a felt tip like pen and I always come back to this one. It glides on beautifully creating the perfect graphic eye and lasts the distance. Plus its a goodie as an eyeshadow base that makes colours really pop making the most gorgeous smokey eye.
