I am offically on holiday for the next 3 weeks!!!!! So its beach time for me here in sunny Cape Town. As well as protecting skin when you go to the beach there are a few beach essentials.
I am a massive fan of Nivea and Vichy sunscreen I use both brands for myself and for my kids and they never burn so that’s a good sign. Vichy have bought out the Capital Soleil BB face sunscreens 50SPF (279) which is amazing because as well as protecting your face you can have a little coverage if you still pale or like me to even out my skin so it looks natural but gives my skin that glow. Nivea sunscreen is one of those brands you just trust and has always been one that I reach for I usually go for a 20 or 30 for myself and a 50 on my kids. Its a non greasy formula and applies beautifully. REMEMBER to always apply especially if you in the sun all day.
Lips need to be kept hydrated and I never want to wear a lippie or a gloss if I am tanning but the Clinique Chubby Lip Tints are perfect for the beach because lips are kept hydrated and there is a hint of colour. I love this shade in coming up rosy as its a subtle pinky red and looks like I am not waering much but with a hint of something. If you haven’t tried these out yet they are a tint that bring out your natural lip tone so each colour will look slightly different on each person.
I am literally obsessed with bikini’s and can never have enough. This latest bikini I purchased is by Lalesso Beach from the shop at the Grand at The Beach for R980 its a little pricey but its amazing quality and looks super hot on.
The sunglasses are my latest spoil for myself, I am absolutely obssesed with the aviator style glasses and I kid you not when I say I have about 7 pairs that are this shape and Ray Ban they just get it so right. The coloured rims are their newest ones that come in this blue, white, mint green and the same red shade as my bikini. I love blue so that’s the colour I went for from Sunglasses Hut.
What’s on your feet is really important and each year Country Road bring out the plastic sandals that are perfect for the beach. This year they have 4 different colours in the Nina Jelly Thong sandal of course I bought 2 one in the nude and one in black they are pretty good value at R349 each and will last you all summer long.
