La Roche - Posay

Thank you to La Roche – Posay and People Have Influence for having me on this skin is more than skin campaign. I was one of 18 beauty influencers in SA to take part in the first beauty virtual event as well get to test our some skincare goodies. Its a brand I have been wanting to work with for quite a while. Skincare concerns like acne prone skin and eczema are what the brand really focuses on. So many people suffer from such sensitive skin that its actually debilitating at times. La Roche – Posay prides itself on really trying to help these skin sufferers have a better quality of life.

Being in my 40’s my skin has levelled out a lot. I struggled with breakouts as a teen and back then I had no clue how to deal with it. Eczema was also something I have suffered from all my life and during pregnancy had it on my face which is the worst. Now I am fighting my pigmentation and of course not wanting to get old. I always look for skincare that can help me with hydration, anti ageing and pigmentation. Plus products that are great for sensitive skin in general.

I got to test out 4 skincare products from La Roche – Posay the last 3 weeks my fav is definitely the Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF50. Its hard to really comment on the effectiveness of the serums etc has I haven’t had long to really put the products to the test but my skin felt pretty good after using the skincare.

The Effaclar Micro Peeling Purifying Gel with 2% Salicylic Acid (R370) is a gently exfoliating cleanser. That helps with congested skin and improves skin clarity. If you struggle with oily or acne prone skin this one is definitely for you. The Salicylic Acid helps unclog the pores and prevents blemishes from reappearing. The Lipo-Hydroxy Acid (LHA) gently exfoliates and refines the pores, the Zinc deeply purifies and reduces the sebum, the Menthol is soothing with anti bacterial properties but also gives that amazing refreshing effect. Its a goodie to clear up dead skin leaving skin feeling so refreshed. What’s great is it can also be used on the body too!

For those of you who suffer from Eczema on your face and body the La Roche – Posay Lipikar Balm AP+M (R450) is definitely for you. Its a barrier repairing cream that is so hydrating for those who really struggle with extra dry skin. It helps build the skin’s barrier and rebalance the skin’s microbiome. The moisturiser can also be used on babies as well it’s that gentle and hydrating. My body can get really dry so this is a great one for my legs and after a skin peel this is a great cream to keep skin hydrated.

Key Ingredients:

Sea Butter – Replenishes the hydrolipidic film.

Glycerine – Restores suppleness.

Mineral Oil, Grape seed oil, Paraffin & Microcrystalline wax – Prevents water loss from the skin.

Niacinamide – Soothes itching and rebuilds the skin barrier.

Aqua Posae Filiformis (AP+Microresyl) – Rebalances microbial diversity.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Water – Relieves irritation.

The new La Roche – Posay Effaclar Ultra Concentrated Serum was designed to improve overall skin texture, while simultaneously targeting blackheads, blemishes, and marks. Great for acne prone skin but also great for pigmentation as well. It’s got anti ageing benefits while helping the fight against black heads and blemishes.

The serum includes 3.5% of Glycolic Acid (exfoliates) and 1.5% of Salicylic Acid (exfoliates and shrinks pores) and 0.45% of LHA that helps unclog pores, smooth the skin’s surface and helps with cell regeneration over night. The Niacinimide (Vitamin B3) improves elasticity and pigmentation and enhance the skin’s barrier. As well as the Spring Water that helps soothe irritated skin.

The serum is super light and melts into skin really quickly. I personally don’t struggle from acne but I do struggle with pigmentation. I haven’t used the serum long enough to say its helped with my pigmentation. However, my skin felt great after applying and definitely gave me that glow.

Also don’t apply it with other acids as you don’t want to overload your skin. Apply in there evening for the best results so as to help with cell regeneration.

I absolutely love the La Roche – Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF 50 (R275). The sunscreen is super light, instantly absorbs into the skin and so hydrating. Great to apply before you do your base as its not greasy. I love that its invisible so when you apply on any skin tone you can’t tell you have applied sun block and there is no white cast.

The sunscreen is both a chemical and physical sunscreen infused with antioxidants Vitamin E, La Roche – Posay Spring Water and Baicalin (antioxidant that nutarilises free radicals). It gives ultra protection against UVA/UVB so you know your skin is really protected. The Glycerin helps seriously hydrate the skin plus its water, sweat and sand resistant. Great for all skin types with any skin sensitivities. You can also get a tinted version for those of you who aren’t keen on wearing foundation but want a little something extra.

As mentioned I didn’t get to use the products for long but so far really impressed with the brand. Definitely want to try do more and add the Spring Water and Micellar Water to my beauty stash.  La – Roche Posay is a brand that gets recommended by dermatologists worldwide. I know a lot of people that use the brand and absolutely love it. Sadly we don’t have the Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C serum in SA yet but when I get myself to the UK I am definitely going to get.
