I love pretty much most products that I have tried from Smashbox with their Liquid Halo Foundation being in my top 5 and a key staple in my kit. When I got their latest drop the Smashbox Photo Filter Creamy Powder foundation you can say I was pretty excited to try.
If you haven’t heard of the brand before then you need to be checking this one out. What I love about it is that the makeup line was created especially for being in front of the camera so that skin will look amazing when a picture is taken. The idea behind the foundation was to try reduce the need for retouching and that the person having their picture taken looked like they had the best skin already and from this they created this light filter technology found in the foundation. The transparent filters refract light in various directions, blurring imperfections leaving nothing but flawless looking skin cause all we want to look is flawless especially when we doing a selfie on Instagram.
Now I am not always a fan of powder as you all know I am a liquid dewy foundation kind of girl and try and get my glow on when I can. However I have to say I really like the finish and my skin looks pretty good if I have to say so myself.
Each powder comes with a double sided sponge which helps create the finish you want and the amount of coverage. The velvety side is for a more natural finish and the smooth side is to create a more matte finish with fuller coverage. Or you can just go with a powder brush and work how you want it but remember take excess of first and rather work with less and then build up the coverage.
The foundation really does have a silky smooth finish and is very light so my face didn’t feel dry and the shade 6 which I used on myself is pretty true to my skin shade so I was very happy about that. The foundation has a Photoset polymer with a liquid bandage technology which gives it all day wear which I definitely found I applied in the am and didn’t need to reapply in the eve and also means no caking or streaking and just great looking skin.
