Some of my Favs from Dermalogica
In this post I wanted to chat about some of my fav Dermalogica skincare products. Its hard to be able to choose from a brand especially when there is so much to choose from. I like to mix things up so I never use just one brand but a few at the same time. It can be difficult navigating your way trying to work out what is best. Especially when some skincare is really costly its always a good idea to do some research. Dermalogica is definitely on the pricey side but some of the products for me are really worth it.
First up as its top of the list when it comes to Dermalogica the Antioxidant Hydramist (R799). Its been in my pro kit for as long as I can remember because not ony is it full of the good stuff it also smeels great too. Its one of those face mists that when you apply and the model is instantly soothed. The mist is esssentially a toner that you apply after cleansing that’s not only refreshing peptide toner, it also hydrates to the skin. Plus it provides an antioxidant shield over the skin to help reduce fine lines and prevent the signs of ageing. I love it so much its now in my personal skincare stash.
Its one that you can apply to clean skin or just apply through the day. Whether your make up needs refreshing or its hot and you just want to sooth your skin its a winner.
Key Benefits:
- The antioxidant hydramist protects against free radicals.
- Instantly hydrates.
- Can be used throughout the day to refresh and boost the skin.
The Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque (R929) is an absolute favourite of mine to boost my skin. Its replenishes the skin thats been affected by stress and ageing. I know when I use this bad boy not only is my skin happy it has a gorgeous glow going on too. Formulated with powerful concentrates of Vitamin A, C, E and F to help skin recover from damage that causes ageing.
The all powerful Vitamin A helps increase elasticity and moisture content, making it the ultimate remedy for dulling, dry, dehydrated, lackluster, photodamaged skin. Vitamin C and E help shield against the free radicals. As well as Algae Extract that helps moisturize and soften skin, and Pro-Vitamin B5 helps nourish damaged skin while botanical extracts of Licorice, Comfrey and Burdock soothe, calm and help decrease sensitivity.
The masque is in a cream formula but once applied to the skin the texture actually changes. It makses the skin glow like never before. So if you are struggling with a dull dehydrated complexion you need to get your hands on this one. Its the ultimate at home pamper expecially if you have had a peel this one is a winner for adding hydration to your skin.
I love the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (R1099) as it leaves my skin feeling super smooth after use. It comes in a powder form which you can see and needs to be mixed with water before applying. Once you have poured some into your hands mix with water to create a foam and then massage into your skin. It exfoliates but its also gentle on your skin at the same time.
The Unique Rice-based powder formula activates upon contact with water, releasing Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes that micro-exfoliate dead cells, instantly leaving skin smoother and brighter. The Unique skin brightening complex helps to balance uneven skin pigmentation while a super-soothing blend of Green Tea, Ginkgo and Colloidal Oatmeal helps to calm the skin, leaving it extraordinarily clear and refreshed.
Its gentle enough to use daily although I probably use it maybe 4 times a week. I love how my skin looks and feels after use. So when it comes to makeup application its super easy.
Last up the Total Eye Care eye cream (R849 ) which is pricey for an eye cream but I really like it to help brighten up the under eye area. Its another one I have used for a long time in my pro kit when I feel a model needs a brightening boost. Its got an SPF which lots of eye creams don’t have which is a big plus for me. It helps reduce the fine lines I find I get from dehydrated or tired skin. My under eye area is the first area that is affected by not enough sleep. I personally never go without applying a cream under my eyes.
With ingredients like skin-smoothing alpha hydroxy acids and plant extracts the skin is retexturised. As well as optical light diffusers that help diminish dark circles and a chemical-free sunscreen helps to shield against further damage.
I have some more Dermalogica products that I will be chatting about in the next few weeks so watch this space. Although Dermalogica has a South African youtube channel go check out the UK one to see lots of the products in action.
If you are unsure of what products to test out go to one of the Dermalogica stores where you can get a skin mapping done to see what your skin concerns are. But I hope my product recommendations helped you make a decision if you are looking to invest in the brand.
