Its almost that time of year in South Africa and summer is just around the corner so its time to think about makeup and sunscreen. This post is all about my summer tips for your makeup. For me as it gets really hot I like to keep it light so that my makeup still feels comfirtable and my pores don’t get blocked. Its definitely the time to switch up foundations that are lighter on the skin and sunscreen suscreen and more sunscreen. I love to keep everything fresh and light so working with creams for blush and eyes is also a great way to keep everything light.
Whwn it comes to foundation look for a more sheer coverage you don’t want a heavy base that will make you sweat. Its not great for your skin and could lead to breakouts as well. There are loads on the market to choose from your Mac Face and Body, Bobbi Brown or Bourjois CC Cream or Estee Lauder Double Wear Water Fresh foundation (perfect for the hot climate). You can either apply with fingers to get a lighter coverage or a sponge or brush if you ooking for a little more. Remember concealer is your best friend if you have any redness or dark circless.
If you want to add a little lumination and extra hydartion to your skin work in some glow drops or a strobe cream that will really give a gorgeous glow. The Mac strobe creams are amazing in really brightening things up. Perfect for tired skin that needs that extra love totally freshen and boosting that skin. They totally enhance the light on the skin so you look amazing and super healthy. Mix a pea size into your faoundation and apply all over. If you suffer from oily or crazy shiney skin this may not be for you but make sure you have powder handy to make sure that you can matt the areas where needed.
Sunscreen is so important especially in the hot climate that we live in. Its something I have realy had to incorporate into my beauty regime first and foremost. Make use you invest in a good face sunscreen that you can pop in your bag and apply throughtout the day. My go to sunscreens are Avene Eau Thermale Solaire Anti Age 50 and the Nimue Sun C SPF 40. They will guarantee that you are protected all day long. If you are in the sun for hours you can reapply with your foundation just mix them togther and apply with a brush.
I love anything thats cream for the face, lips and eyes to keep it light and let your skin breath plus it looks so pretty. In the image above I used the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral for the eyes and cheeks. There are 5 shades available in SA for most skin tones they looks so pretty on and keep the skin looking super fresh. Apply with fingers and pat into your skin.
Make sure you get ready for summer.
