Some of you may know that I have filmed some video tutorials in studio so all very professional! The first will be live on my channel in a couple of weeks but in the mean time The Buchanan Group created me a promo video to promote my channel which I think was pretty nice of them. They made me twirl around in studio like I was in a hair ad but you get the idea of what my channel and blog are about.

So here it is:

Let me know your thoughts. Shahnaz x

I am very proud to announce that my blog was voted Best Beauty Blog in the Fairlady Magazine Best of Beauty Awards 2013. Thank you to all who voted for me I really appreciate it. I have put my heart into shahnazlovesbeauty and at times been told off by my family for working too hard but it paid off!

If any of you are thinking about blogging all I can say is write about what you love as honestly as possible and do it beacuse you love it.

My Beauty Picks of the Week

As well as testing out products on myself, I have been testing out products all week on my shoots. Here are my favourite products for the week:

Bourjois Bronzer: I love the packaging of this bronzer as it looks like chocolate and its pretty well priced. I have used my loads and it looks like I have barely used it. It has a great matt finish and really makes me look like I have a healthy looking tan.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powders: I have blogged about these powders. What can I say I LOVE THEM! I finally got to test them out on set. On my Grazia shoot I used no 20 to set the foundation and then used no 30 to contour the beautiful Morgan from Boss models. I am totally sold on these powders.

Mac Prep and Prime Highlighting Pens: I have these pens a while but for some reason I didn’t go straight to them on my shoots. I recently used one of them on one of my video tutorials on taking a day to night look. I love the way they give the face a pick me up and have great coverage. My skin instantly looked brighter. Definitely a winner for me.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: I got this concealer in London. Sadly its not available in South Africa yet. Its an inexpensive concealer and in the past I have always used more expensive brands but I am really love this product. It makes the area under the eyes seem really bright and takes the darkness away and I love the creamy texture.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation: I recently blogged about this new addition to my kit. I have been putting the foundation to the test and used it on my Women’s Health Shoot and my Grazia shoot. One of the models commented on how light it felt on her skin and on my Grazia shoot Morgan’s skin looked totally flawless when we were looking at the images on the computer. Absolutely am in love with this foundation.

If there is one thing I can’t live without when it comes to makeup it’s mascara. Especially for me as I have not much going on in the lash department. Mascara can change the eyes dramatically or just give a subtle effect it all depends on what you want. For me its about volume and making my eyes appear bigger. Even if I have no other makeup on my face I won’t leave home without mascara. There are a so many on the market and iot can be very confusing.  I have bought expensive ones’s like Diorshow which I love and drugstore/high street ones but I keep going back to the inexpensive ones. In my kit I have Maybelline, Max Factor and L’Oreal I love these they are not too expensive and they are great quality and they do exactly what they are supposed to.

I also love Benefit They’re Real Mascara it gives great volume and has a great wand for getting right into the lahes. I recently tried the Inglot False Lashes which I was given at an event, I love it as my lashes looked amazing and looked like I had a lot more than I did (happy days). I also tried the Gosh Show Me Volume Mascara and I was really happy with how my lashes looked.

If you are not great with applying make up keep it simple but make sure Mascara is part of your staple kit. If you want to keep it modern then apply only a little and if you want volume like me because I really don’t have much lashes then apply a few coats.

Here are the one’s I recommend:
