Beauty on a budget Its that time again when I share some of my beauty on a budget favourites and some new ones that I need to shout out about. Yes we all love fancy products but if you take the time to look there are some goodies out there that are just as great.

Its not a newbie but its a favourite of mine for highlighting and getting that dewy skin its the Revlon Photoready Skinlights. Its an amazing highlighter that can be applied either straight onto the skin before foundation application or mixed in with foundation to give that all over glow. I just can’t get enough of this stuff priced at R180 its a pretty good price for glowing skin right?

New to SA is the Bourjois Volume 1 Second Mascara that I just had to share its got a clump free wand that applies beautifully coating the lashes, separates them giving an illusion of longer lashes  and really opens them up. What I also love is that the mascara feels light on the lashes and is priced at R139.95, its also available in a waterproof formula. LOVE IT.

NYX is one of those makeup brands that rarely lets you down. I read quite a few times on other beauty blogs on how amazing the Soft Matt Lip Cream so I took myself to Clicks and bought the shade in Amesterdam priced at R66, it’s an orange/red shade and I have fallen in love. The applicator makes it easy to apply, the formula is super light and just looks amazing. Make sure lips are hydrated before you apply. Matt formula’s look cool and take your makeup look to another level. Yes please.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Polishes are great because when I am on set painting nails you know you don’t have to wait forever for them to dry. The wide brush applicator makes it really easy to apply and doesn’t streak. This latstest spring/summer shade in Instyle Coral is a great way to brighten up your look any time of year and at R54.95 seriously you can’t go wrong.

When the L’Oreal Revitalift Magic Blur hit my desk I was very intrigued because anything that says blur usually gets my attention. We all want the illusion of perfect looking skin and with so many blurring products hitting the market its becoming more and more popular. The Magic Blur is the last product you apply after your beauty regime kind of like a primer, it basically has a matt effect on the skin leaving it feeling very smooth so that when it comes to applying makeup you have the appearance of flawless skin and retails at R200 so pretty good price.

Would love to hear about any of your beauty on a budget products that you love.

Beauty on a budget

Looking for makeup that won’t break the bank? The budget beauty brands are constantly launching new amazing products that have taken my attention away from the luxury brands and I find myself reaching for the budget brands  more and more. Here are my beauty on a budget picks that I am currently loving:

Garnier BB Cream Eyes R69.95: The latest edition to the Garnier BB family for the eyes, its a roll on so perfect if your eyes are a bit puffy this will help reduce the puffiness as you massage the roller ball under the eye area this helps stimulate drainage. Its a really natural looking under eye concealer and will make you look more awake, reduce dark circles, illuminate and give you 24 hour moisture. With the key ingredient Haloxyl which helps deal with dark circles by firming the under eye area, stimulates the elimination of red pigments and catch and absorb coloured blood pigments

Revlon Age Defying CC Cream SPF 30 R189: I am always looking for new foundations, BB creams and CC creams and when this landed on my desk at the beginning of the week I couldn’t wait to try. I love the quality and the fact that it has buildable coverage and if you looking for a natural finish then this is the one. Its a multi-benefit colour correcting and anti-ageing CC cream, that targets the very first signs of ageing and help improve the condition of your skin. The CC cram helps hydrate, smooth and brighten skin, i couldn’t stop touching my face as my skin felt amazing. My skin definitely looked brighter and smoothed and I also love that it has an SPF of 30.

Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara R119: I am a lover of Maybelline Mascara’s and on a recent budget beauty shopping trip I added this latest mascara to my collection. This mascara really opens up the lashes giving them it seems a little extra length and a lot of volume and for my sorry lashes this is exactly what I need. The applicator is described as a jet glide brush with micro bristles that gives massive volume clump free. Yes please!

Lee Stafford Aragonoil Miracle Shine Spray: This brand is new to SA with a whole range of hair products but I am especially the Arganoil range. This spray goes on after you have styled your hair to give a beautiful shine and finish to your hair. Its a light weight silicone free glossing mist for smooth and silky hair.

Happy beauty on a budget shopping.

My Beauty on a Buget Pick: Catrice Cosmetics

Since searcing for inexpensive products in South Africa I came across Catrice Cosmetics which some of you may be happy to know are not tested on animals. I have to say I was pleased with what I found and the prices are great. Even when finances are tight we still need make up to make us feel a little bit better. These cosmetics certainly won’t break the bank. If you live in South Africa you can find this brand at Dischem.

So here are my  Catrice budget picks for the week:

Catrice Cosmetics

I really like the quality of the products. I haven’t tried them out on a photoshoot yet to see how they last and how they look against the lights etc but for every day they are good quality products that you can stay on trend with. I will definitely be including these items into a video tutorial so watch this space.

Hope you enjoy the post. x
