How many nude lipsticks can one have in their makeup stash? A nude is a must have for any girl whether its a natural day time look or paired with a smokey eye. I have some newbies in my pro kit that I find I just keep reaching for. My go to nude lipsticks at the moment are super affordable and are just really pretty. I love how easy they are to apply so when I am doing touch ups on set they just glide on. Sadly you can't get KIKO in Cape Town yet so let's hope that changes soon.
For the April issue of Marie Claire SA I shot an editorial that was all about winter layering mixing masculine and feminine mixed together. Working jumpers, skirts, trainers and jackets for those of you who don't like to be too pretty in what they wear. I asked Rimmel for a couple of items to work the natural makeup look that would compliment the clothes. This makeup look is all about the no makeup makeup vibe but with a nude lip and a flush on the cheek to keep that subtle femininety.
Last year we saw a gorgeous nude collection and this year the Kate Moss Rose Gold Rimmel lipsticks are even better. Not only does it have some gorgeous nudes but some beautiful shades of red for the party season. This collection is right on trend as red is definitely the right colour to go. What I love is that there is a bright to a dark so something here for everyone. The new collection celebrates 15 years of Kate Moss being the face of the brand. I love the rose gold packaging and the new shades.
The last week I have literally been trying to sort out my pro kit and getting ruthless. I realised that I needed some Mac beauty basics to add to my kit. Nude lipsticks, lip pencils and paint pots have been my latest purchases. Mac always have such a great selection when it comes to lippies. Even though I have so many I have lost count as a makeup artist you always need every nude shade. Its definitely all about the basics with this purchase with 4 new nude lipsticks, a nude lip liner, two nude pro longwear paint pots and a gel liner that are definite essentials.
A nude lipstick is a must have for everyone because its perfect for that every day look and also looks gorgeous paired with a smokey eye. Or even if you are into the no makeup vibe then a nude lip is the way to go. Now there are a whole load of choices out there and of course some are more pinky and some more on the tan side. I love both because every model has a different lip colour so it really depends. Here are my 4 go to nude lipsticks that are a key part of my kit and one is a newbie that I absolutely love.
