The Oh So Pretty Clarins Joli Blush And Lip Perfector landed on my desk last week and I love love love. I have used the Instant Natural Lip Perfector in the past but this one is just known as the Instant Lip Perfector. I am assuming its been renamed as the texture feels the same and gives a real wet gloss effect. I am all about a natural every day makeup look for myself and a blush and gloss really help pull that look all together. I love the packaging of the blush and how it looks on everything is just really pretty.
This is definitely a new favourite base of mine since it landed on my desk last week to test out by the lovely ladies from Clarins. The Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid is perfect for those of you who don’t like the feeling of makeup but still want some coverage, an even skin tone and a protected complexion. I am all about the light base these days so that my skin can breath but most importantly I am looking for a base that will give me a radiant complexion.
Its that time of the year when new makeup collections are coming our way this time its the beautiful Clarins Pretty day and Night Makeup Collection. I luckily got given some of the collection to play with. Its a mixture of nude netral palettes to pops of colour with the new Ombre matt shades.
I love a good foundation and its definitely one product that I am always on the look out for plus I get asked pretty much every day what’s a good foundation to use. The Clarins Everlasting Foundation + SPF 15 hit my desk last week and I got stuck right in testing it out and am happy to say I love it.
I got the pleasure of playing around with the latest from Clarins the Ladylike makeup collection that launches in SA next month. So I thought why not do a tutorial for you while I was busy reviewing. I really love all the quality of the makeup and definitely give a big thumbs up. Its a gorgeous every day makeup look that you can take from day to night especially with the red lippie I love it.
I do love it when Clarins send me makeup to play around with, even though I have makeup coming out of my ears you can never have too much right? If you are a fan of anything Clarins then you will probably want to get your hands on something from their latest Clarins Colours of Brazil Summer Collection. Its all about summer and getting your healthy glow on.
Last week the Clarins Opalescence Collection launched in SA and I got to play with a few of the products and love love it all. Am a little sad the bronzer is not included in the collection in SA but that’s the way it goes.
The collection consists of the Instant Light Complexion Booster, the cream blushes, eyeshadow, lipsticks and the gloss. I am an absolute lover of the Instant Light retailing at R310 each, they are one of those products that give that natural glow to the skin:
The idea of the complexion boosters is that they give you a luminous complexion, minimise imperfections and get your glow on. They come in 3 shades no 2 is champagne which corrects redness, no 1 rose gives maximum radiance to all skin tones and no 3 Peach which I have is to revive tanned complexions. The base can be worn on its own or mixed in with foundation. I like to mix in with foundation but as I get more of a tan will most likely use on its own. The texture is very light weight leaving skin fresh and evened out.
The benefits of the Instant Light is that they have 3D radiance pigments and a new High Lumitech Complex to fill the complexion with light and correct imperfections. With ingredients like Katafray plant extract which boosts the skin’s natural hydration, a sensitive skin active ingredient and 2 anti pollution ingredients white tea and succory dock-cress to help protect the skin.
The Cream blushes come in 4 shades retailing at R300, they are beautifully light weight, apply with fingers or a stippling brush to give those cheeks a beautifull fresh spring/summer look:
I have the rosewood its the darker of the blushes and great for darker skin tones but Iove all the colours, the blushes compliment a dewy face and just completes the whole look. The Light Optimising + Complex captures the and diffuses the light to give amazing radiance to the skin, and the Floral waxes of Rose, Mimosa, Jojoba and sunflower protect the skin against dehydration.
The collection only has the one eyeshadow which is the Smokey Plum retailing at R240 its a beautiful shade perfect to take your fresh day look to a sexy night look or a subtle day time look with the shadow just applied to the lash line. I love the texture it’s very luxuious and has a great colour pay off.
The Joli Rouge Brilliant Sheer Shine Lipstick come in 3 shades 19 Tropical Pink, 20 Coral Tulip and 21 Pink Orchid retailing at R235. I haven’t had a chance to test the lipsticks out so I can’t give my personal opinion but Clarins makeup is always amazing. The Gloss Prodige Lip Gloss retails at R220, I got my hands on the Coral Tulip is a very pretty gloss and perfect for that day time look.
The Clarins Opalescence collection a beautiful all around collection perfect for spring/summer and its really just all about light and freshness.
Clarins invited us to a beautiful launch end of last year at Shimmy Beach Club (felt very spoilt). The launch was all about new skincare, fragrances and their make up launching in the first quarter of 2014. Which brings me to the Clarins makeup. I have been busy playing with the makeup on myself and for the Elle Birthday Shoot out now.
I did feature the Instant Concealer a few times in my posts and it featured in my best beauty finds for 2013 and my New Years Eve Look. This concealer retails at R310 is one of my favs at the moment and its perfect for those tired eyes. Its tinted to mask the colour of dark circles under the eyes while restoring the skin’s natural tone. Apply with your ring finger and lightly dab under the eye area. The concealer’s active ingredients are Aloe Vera extract which is smoothing and comforting action, Caffine for the dark circles, light optimising and complex which is exclusive which is exclusive to Clarins which instantly captures, diffuses and amplifies light leaving the under eye area looking radiant.
I am loving the Crayon Kohl Long Lasting Eye Pencil which retail at R235 they are perfect on their own or as part of a smokey eye look. I used the plum pencil for a subtle smokey look for one of the looks for Elle magazine will be posting next month perfect to go with a dark berry lip. They are very easy to apply and glide on beautifully and come in 8 shades Intense Black, Smokey Plum, Intense Blue, Bronze, Intense Brown, Platinum and Taupe. They can be either used to line the eyes for a subtle smokey and then smudge on the top lash line or I have used them and then applied a powder eyeshadow on the lid and then reapply on the top lash line to create intensity or apply a feline flick just using the black pencil. The pencils have an active ingredient called Alchemilla which offers anti free radical protection.
This is the twins for the April issue of Elle where I based the eyes with the smokey plum liner to create a somkey effect and applied in the waterline. The liner is amazing to create a smokey eye on its own or as a base for an eyeshadow.
Clarins have launched the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in Forest retailing at R425 which is a combination of khaki green, satin taupe, intense bronze and a pale gold. A pefect palette for a smokey eye used in combination with the liner. You can create a more subtle shimmery eye and then add the darker shades to create a smokey eye for the evening. I love the texture and its very easy to blend.
If you are a fan of Clarins makeup there are a few more lovely products launching hopefully by June but you will just have to watch this space to find out what they are.
