This season its all about masculine suits for women with a touch of a feminine touch thrown in. If you are embracing the masculine trend then its important to add the makeup to have a little contrast with the clothes. In this Elle magazine fashion editorial I did the makeup but had both girls but giving them both a different look that should inspire you on how to wear your makeup id you decide to embrace this trend.
Luckily I got my hands on this gorgeous Naked Flushed palette from Urban Decay just before shooting my editorial for Elle Magazine SA last month. The PR ladies kindly sent some goodies for me to use on the shoot and put to the test. As you can see the gorgeous model looked amazing and I have to say I absolutely love the palette. The flushed palette is a 3-in-1 that you can just pop in your bag and work your cheeks contouring and shimmer all at the same time.
In this video I am on set for Elle magazine SA this is the third and last instalment of tutorials for the March beauty editorial. In this video I show how to do an alternative graphic eye with the focus on the outer corner of the eyes. Its a trend makeup look seen on the catwalks so great for shoots or if you want to try something different.
Looking back on 2015 its been another great year with some amazing shoots, amazing photographers and amaszing models. My biggest highlight was getting a cover for Elle working with one of my favourite photographers Daniella Midenge with the gorgeous model Milan Dixon.
Another week of beauty, shoots, new products and this week I bring a new fresh look to my blog. As always I share the highlights of my week and what I have been loving.
I wanted to share with you my images, behind the scenes shots and the fashion video from my recent Elle magazine editorial Closer than Close. I love the images and I love the 70’s inspired makeup that i did on the day.
In this video I recreated a look I did for Elle magazine SA with the gorgeous Emma Menteath shot by Justin Polkey. It was inspired by 70’s chic makeup with neutral tan tones and glowing skin.
Another amazing shoot with Elle creating beautiful pictures makes me oh so happy. This shoot Hey Jude was shot in the most stunning bridal studio for Bo and Luca with the 70’s vibe clothes with 2 gorgeous models. I was on makeup with the key look focusing on the eyes using my new fav palette the Smashbox Double Exposure palette for both the girls.
To say I am beyond excited to have been part of this Elle beauty shoot would be an understatement. The editorial is all about braided hair and absoloutely flawless skin, I got to do the makeup for the shoot with Olga and April and the pictures have come out so beautifully. My brief was to create flawless beautiful skin and as you all know that is one of my favourite things to do.
I absolutely loved doing this Elle Style For Less shoot as I got to play a little with the makeup. The brief was a modern muse with the sixties inspired makeup, and with Gina’s amazing big eyes this look was perfect for her.
The key look for the makeup was bottom lashes, a thin liner on the top lash line, a fresh face an a nude lip.
The key items to create the look was the Benefit Oxygen Wow Oh So Flawless Foundation, Mac Brow Pencil in Lingering, Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack, Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Lash Enhancing Mascara, Eyelure Naturalites Underlash and Mac Taupe Pro Palette Blush (contouring).
If you haven’t had a chance to see the Behind The Scenes video yet check it out here.
There are so many takes on the sixties inspired makeup, I love this one as its more subtle but the pop comes with the bottom lashes.
