In this months August issue of Cosmo SA my latest editorial is out with a gorgeous look that can be worn to the office, out on a date or out with the girls. Its pretty versatile and perfect for those colder months. Its all about the smokey eye with a deep berry shimmer paired with a matt purple lip.
I did my makeup for my night out with hubbie and mum last night and I thought why not share as its pretty and really easy. Its all about accentuating the eyes, adding a glow to the skin, a flush on the cheek and bronzer to contour my face.
In this video I recreated a look I did for Elle magazine SA with the gorgeous Emma Menteath shot by Justin Polkey. It was inspired by 70’s chic makeup with neutral tan tones and glowing skin.
In the Elle trend beauty shoot I did for the May issue I was asked by the Elle team to talk through how to create the trend gloss eye for this autumn/winter. Its not an every day look but it can look really beautiful to add an extra dimension to your makeup.
I am absolutely in love with this editorial I did for Womens Health with one of my favourite South African model’s Emma Menteath and fashion blogger of mylifeinpink. The story was all about what to wear under your sports clothes that make you feel good. The makeup and hair vibe was the wet gelled undone look with some serious contouring and strong eyes.
Part of the beauty shoots with Elle we share how I created a certain look and what products I used, this look was taken from the Prada AW14 catwalk look with clumped lashes and a red lip. Its super easy to create all you need is a volumising mascara and a pretty red lipstick.
There are so many ways to do a smokey eye and so many colours to choose from and no you don’t always have to go with black or brown. Last week I was shooting an editorial for Elle and they wanted a 70’s inspired look purely because 70’s fashion is back in a big way so the makeup had to match. There are also so many take’s on 70’s makeup but we went with a more luxurious look and all I used was 2 eye shadows!
In the April Issue of Elle Magazine I did makeup for one of the main fashion editorials called Play As You Go. It was all about fashion and technology looking good while out and about. We wanted the nails to look amazing so used the Essie After School Boy Blazer a beautiful dark navy blue that really made all the technology stand out.
In the latest issue of Grazia SA I did makeup 10 girls covering lots of beauty trends. The story was all about hair tips and trends so we decided why not keep to make up trends too. All the girls had their skin prepped with Dermalogica skincare to make sure their skin looked amazing beacuse that really is the biggest trend.
Normally on a Sat morning I would share with you the highlights of my week and any video’s or posts I have come across. But as we almost at the end of 2014 I decided to look back over the last 12 months and share some of my makeup artist highlights and jobs I have been so excited to be part of:
